Will concierge "do" laundry for you instead of doing it yourself?

Stupid question... But I figure if I'm paying for concierge this probably one and ONLY time, I should get all I can out of it :)

They don't "do" laundry for you but all of the resorts have the laundry service for a fee, or at least they use to.

There are laundry bags provided in the closets. There is also a form with prices on it. You fill it out, check off the items on the check list and leave it on the bed or call housekeeping. They will pick it up and return it the next day. There is a charge always...laundry is never included at any hotel, no matter what level you are staying at.

You know, I would have agree with you until recently. Our oldest and his brand new bride just returned from their honeymoon on Fiji and laundry service was included at their resort! :earseek:

But not at WDW or any other resort or hotel I've heard of in the US.

Please take this in the gentle manner that I mean, Dznylvr2005, but concierge service is not at all like butler service. :)

Have fun and happy planning. Which resort did you choose?

Well, duh.. I just noticed that you will be at Wilderness Lodge. Best wishes and keep asking those questions. :flower: There are no stupid questions here!

Speaking of laundry, does anyone know how much it is to have laundry done there at any of the Disney resorts?

Marc, I don't know how to do a link but Lollipopmom recently posted an AKL price list on the GF FAQ thread. It is on page 65 of the FAQ. I imagine all the deluxe resorts have similar prices.

Well I was wondering regardless if I was concierge or not. I figured maybe people do that there. (I paid enough money!) Don't mean that I paid enough, they should do it, I know there is a fee, but Disneyworld is like the most popular place in the US, they should have that there. And there's plenty of resorts in the US that do this!

Dh and I were in disagreement about how much luggage we would be taking with us for our 15 day trip to the WL once. Dh thought we should only pack for half the time and do laundry at the half way point. Problems being I DON'T do laundry on vacation - sorry don't do it, and we were meeting a family who had never been before - so time would be at a premium for them. Dh suggested that we have the laundry done at the resort. I said sure, good idea. I called and got the list of prices and added up how much it would cost to have our 7 days of laundry done.

When I told Dh that it was cost over $300.00 to have our laundry done, he agreed I should buy more luggage and pack for 15 days - l\ :rotfl2:

I think we're talking at cross purposes here. I thought you were speaking of concierge staff doing your laundry themselves and doing it for free. Neither is the case.

However, like most hotels you can afford yourself of the laundry service. The price list for that at the AKL is in the GF FAQ. :) The prices at the Polynesian are most likely similar. Or you can use the self service laundry room. As I recall, it is $2.00 per load for both washer and dryer although it has probably been a couple of years since I had use them.

Or do you know of hotels in the US that will actually do it for free? If so, I want to visit them! :cool1:
