My Mum is now in hospital and will have major surgery today.
It is to remove part of her lower stomach, and cancer cells
have spread to the lining of her stomach wall. My sister (who my Mum lives with) took her in yesterday, and the ward sister has told my Mum and sister what to expect. It all sounds horrendous and is very frightening and scary but we know this is by far the best option for her.
The surgery will take anything up to 5 hours and she will not be going to the operating theatre until 2pm (UK time).
Today is going to be a very long day.
