Latest time I can cancel BOG lunch FP??

We are meeting an Orlando friend on our day at the Magic Kingdom. I had already made our lunch plans for BOG and then found out that our friend may not be allowed in since she isn't a resort guest. I was advised to ask when we check in during our FP time. So if they won't allow her in, then can I cancel our entire reservation right then? I'm not going to go make my friend eat by herself. That's ridiculous. Someone on the boards did tell me that their non-resort guest was allowed in so that's why I'm not cancelling now.

You can cancel at any time. Even if you preorder you aren't charged until you get there.

They don't take any credit card information for the BoG FP+, so if you didn't show up at all, it wouldn't be a problem in that regard. There have been reports of the CMs at the kiosk allowing an extra person in if there's room, but, as with all such things, that is totally up to the discretion and good will of the CM at the moment. It would be good to have alternative plans if your friend isn't allowed in.
