Hi, everyone! Does anyone know the latest rules for admission to Top of the World Lounge? Is it members staying at BLT only?. (We own BLT but are staying on points at BWV this trip.)

If we can get in, can we bring guest? (Non members staying at BWV on our points).

TIA!

As long as you are staying on points at any of the DVC and those parties in your group that are also staying with you, you all get in. You need to be with them and show your ID to get up.

They are now scanning MB to verify where you are staying. Sometimes just the member, sometimes everyone in your group.

From the Member website under Perks > "Mouse"ellanous:

Top of the World Lounge Access
Top of the World Lounge is located at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash) may enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2015 (blockout dates apply. Including but not limited to 12/30/14, 12/31/14, 7/3/15, and 7/4/15). Current operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight.

This perk is available exclusively to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current Magic Band or Key to the World card with a Disney Vacation Club Membership notation in order to gain admission to the lounge and observation deck. If the Member's Magic Band or Key to the World card doesn't display a Membership notation, a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card is required in addition to the Key to the World card to verify Membership.

Note that Members traveling from other Resorts must use Walt Disney World Transportation, as parking is unavailable to anyone not staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Upon arrival, Members must walk to the Bay Lake Tower main lobby entrance on the ground floor and check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the lobby.

This special Top of the World Lounge access is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the lounge reaches capacity. As the lounge is particularly popular during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, arriving as early as possible will give Members the best chance of gaining admission.

Except for dates that are blacked out (7/3, 7/4, 12/30 & 12/31), members can get access to the TOTWL when staying at any Disney O&O Resort regardless of cash or points.

I actually did confirm with MS in a chat, where they put me on hold and contacted BLT directly, and confirmed that if I was staying on a cash reservation made through disneyworld.com that I could still access the lounge, so that was good to find out since the printed policy wasn't very clear on that.

Would also make sure that you have your DVC member cards with you and photoID "just in case"!:goodvibes ENJOY!:thumbsup2

We've always had to show our DVC member cards + photo ID to access TOTWL. And we rarely go during peak times (usually when the bar opens during F&W or Flower/Garden).

The printed policy looks pretty clear on that. "(whether they booked with vacation points or cash)"

What's not clear are the rules during those blackout dates. Some have said that only members staying at BLT on their own points (not cash or someone else's points) can access the lounge. But I can't find anything that defines access during the blackout dates.

I would suspect they would go back to the old access rules which were you must be using your membership to stay at BLT. Not sure how they could verify that unless DVC provided them with a list.

There was a question at the time about whether you had to be staying on a cash reservation made through DVC (possibly with DVC discount) in order to be eligible, or whether just any cash reservation through CRO or disneyworld.com was ok for access. So we got that clarified.

Was just there magic band scanned and had to show DVC id card we were using pts at the Polynesian villas.
