Nice!!! :woohoo: Looks like they are moving right along. Was there an article with it that estimated the amount of progress (on schedule or not) or an opening date? Thanks for posting the picture...sure looks nice on a snowy, sleeting, gloomy day in New England! :)

Never been, would love to go, so what's the scoop on Oahu?

Oahu itself ? EXPENSIVE !! :rotfl: As far as what DVC points will be priced at for this resort, idk, good question, jmho with incentives I'd think around $110 per.

:goodvibes

Aulani will blow away all of the other Oahu resorts, and maybe all the other island resorts.

As a local, I am totally excited to see such a beautiful resort in Hawaii. I can't wait to take our kids for long weekends.

Aloha,
Jen

The article states that there will be 2 bedroom units in the DVC section. Does anyone know if there will be 1 bedroom units or studios in the resort?

They will break up the 2br units and have studios and 1br--just like all DVC resorts.

The comments to that article are more interesting than the article itself, seems not everyone is excited about Disney in the neighborhood.

1) We have cousins on Oahu and Kauai.
2) They claim that the mode is pretty much neutral.
3) However, there are those on the pro-side and con-side.
4) It just seems the con-side are more vocal.

No, I wouldn't expect them to be. We were stationed at Pearl Harbor for 4 years and DS9 was born there. They do not really care for military, tourists, or visitors in general. Plus, Oahu is expensive and touristy, but overall it is a beautiful and exciting place to visit (and even live). And the lagoons at Ko Olina a perfect for Disney...just like Castaway Cay.

I can't wait for Disney to build us a "home", so we can bring DS9 to see his birthplace!
