What is the latest protocol on getting groceries delivered to the resort? (We are ok with paying a per package fee).

Ans where is a good place to get the groceries from?

We went in February and ordered from a local WalMart. Bell Service charged $6 to hold the bags and kept cold items in a cooler.

So how does that work? The thing that has always held me back is feeling that I would be stuck waiting around the room for the first several hours waiting on my groceries to get there. But it sounds like I can have them delivered before I get there and then just grab 'em?

We got instacart delivered earlier in june and it worked really well. We met the driver in the lobby so there was no fee from the bell hop. I think if they left packages with bell hop you would get charged.

I usually get deliveries from Instacart. I plan the delivery to arrive close to when I can check-in to the resort. This means that the same bellman that delivers my luggage also delivers my groceries at the same time and I have not been charged anything extra.

With all the delivery services I've used, you select a 1 hour window for delivery (we pick around 4-5pm so we're more likely to have our room). Many keep you updated with driver tracking.
If there is alcohol in the delivery, most services require you to meet them with your ID.
If you don't have alcohol, the delivery person can give your groceries to Bell Services. Make sure you note to "deliver to Bell Services" when you place your order. As noted, Bell Services can keep food refrigerated/frozen.
If you pick up the groceries directly from Bell Services, there is no charge, but a tip is customary.
If you have Bell Services deliver the groceries to your room, there is a $6 per order, not bag, charge (this charge goes to the resort, NOT Bell Services). If they deliver the groceries with your luggage, there is no $6 fee. Again, it is customary to tip Bell Services when they bring anything to your room.

For the largest selection & best prices, we prefer Walmart. Instacart & Amazon are next in line. The smaller services often offer the option of deliveries from multiple stores (liquor stores, drug stores, etc), but tend to be priced significantly higher,

No you will not need to wait at all. We have done this many times and now we use a company called Dizzy Dolphin but they all pretty much do it the same way. You fill in on their website when you place your order all the info on where you are staying and the date. They will deliver it to your resort on that day and text you when it has been delivered. The resorts all store it for you in refrigerated areas if needed. They will deliver then to your room when you are there for a $6.00 flat fee but we also tip the person who brings it or you can go get it yourself with no fee imposed. Dizzy Dolphin does not need you to be there to except this order even if it has beer or wine. They and the other company we used always had our groceries waiting on us when the plane touched down in MCO..ºoº

Thank you. I kinda wish I had known about this earlier. Many moons ago I had considered using that Disney service where you pre-order your food, but the prices were always insane. I will give this a try for my coming trip! I have heard good things about Dizzy Dolphin in the past. I just never wanted to do it because I used to fly in and go right to the parks and come back to the resort and collapse. (I have recently changed that and now fly in before dinner so I can go right to my room.... so this may work better now).

I have had great experiences in the past with Garden Grocers, Amazon Prime Now (I think that's the name of the service but not 100%), and Instacart (used this to order from Publix this past May). I have always had Bell Services hold until later in the day and I go grab myself so I haven't paid the $6 charge yet- I did regret that one stay at OKW as it was a very long walk with a case of water bottles and 2 grocery bags! I have never ordered alcohol though so that might not work if you order that according to others. I think it's a great way for some breakfast, lunch, or snacks to save some money. Have fun on your trip!

No problem at all. As mentioned above some companies reguire you to be there if alchol is delivered but not Dizzy Dolphin as they deliver it to guest services I suppose. Either way we always get wine and beer and had no issues. I forgot to mention the owners of Dizzy Dolphin have a great reputation and we switched to them after having issues with a company mentioned here. They were recommended by the bell services guys at OKW and by many positive post on the DIS FB page. They are also DVC menbers and just nice people...ºoº

Correct. We placed an order just before we boarded our flight and our groceries were at the resort before we landed! We just grabbed them as we checked it. It was flawless.

We placed our order for check in day no parks. Walmart delivery. Met outside. Got a bell cart. And off we went. Fastest shopping trip ever

Another vote for Dizzy Dolphin - I use them when I don’t have a car - they are great ! I often request specific items not just food and they make sure they get what I ask for !!

Found out about Dizzy Dolphin too late - leave in 3 days - any other suggestions ? Just looking for water and soft drinks mainly.
