latest on booking groups for DCL transfers from MCO?

We used the DCL transfer from MCO (staying at the Hyatt) in 2016 and got on the first bus and had a good boarding #. I read a thread a few months ago that the DCL transfer riders weren't automatically getting those sweet boarding groups anymore. As a result, I booked a room at WDW and used a town car service to go to the port.
Time to think about next year's cruise. Any update on using the DCL transportation from MCO to the port after a Hyatt stay? I will either stay at the Hyatt and use DCL or use my points at WDW and book a town car again.

what I've done is wait until after I pick a PAT to order the transfers...
