Latest News for Dining from AllEars

I think thats the problem. Everyone HAS made their ADR's & now they aren't taking anymore.
Have there been recent reports of days when there are absolutely no reservations available at any restaurants anywhere? Again, as far as I know, that hasn't happen yet.

I also think they should leave a few tables during every dining hour open for walk ins. That would help eliminate everyone being turned away.
That's just a shell game, pushing people from here to there to there. It doesn't actually create any additional space, and ends up doing nothing more than creating a nasty scene on the day-of as people looking for those last few reservations available at Le Cellier jockey for position to get there at exactly the right time to be picked for the honor.

I think that you *might* be able to score a reservation the same day at one of the out of the way resorts (like OKW or CSR) or at DTD. I know that the MK TS restaurants and resorts were booked up (even for a 2-top) 30 hours in advance. I also know that MGM was 100% booked when my sister tried to get a reservation the same-day and that Epcot was 100% booked for dinner and 80% booked for lunch the two days I went into Guest Relations. Even YSH was booked solid the day of our 9:15 PM reservation because we tried to move it up a bit so we could catch the MGM bus back to our resort.

However, people who don't bother makings ADRs in advance will also not be likely to transfer on a bus to get to the Maya Grill either.

Yes, I'm sure people would rather not have to go that far for a meal, but by the same token it is a good thing for Disney to direct more traffic to those less popular restaurants -- possibly helping both the restaurant and the surrounding resort hotel get more new fans.

Pirate Dad, I can just hear your friend saying "What a rip off disney is -- offer free dining and no where to eat"

We saw this last Sept. A lady at Le Cellier insisted on talking to a manager after the CM outside told her no walk ups were being accepted. I guess the manager heard her screaming because he came out and told her the same thing. She finally walked off, still screaming, saying she was going to guest services to complain and that Disney had 'sold them this free dining' then wouldn't let them get in anywhere to eat. By the way, Le Cellier had about an hour wait that night, even with an ADR.
