Latest DVC Perks Announcement

They had this same perk last year. We did a wine tasting one, but found it to be really just advertising for a specific vineyard. We would have preferred learning more about tasting notes. Definitely only so-so.

What would be nice is if they managed to send that email to all members that have reservations during F&W. Nice to find out about it though!

It's pretty much the same as last year but announced later so that I thought they might have been eliminating these perks.

Seems to be hit or miss as to who got the e-mail. I received it, but my partner did not. Not sure if an e-mail went out to passholder (didn't get one and we are passholders), but the same discounts apply to AP holders and TiW card holders.

I was excited to see a Perks email, but sadly none of them will be ones I can take advantage of. We are going in December and plan to buy tickets to MVMCP, but not on the date that is available for a DVC discount. I would love to go to F&W but can't get away at that time of year. I do appreciate the hundred dollars off an AP though, and we buy them every year. Without the DVC discount, I doubt we would buy APs and then we would not be able to fit in the extra "mini-vacation" between our main vacations. I hope this will always be a perk offered to DVC members.

Descent perks if you were already booked for F & W, but not so good to just find out about it now when most everything is booked up.

:confused3 Nothing is booked up yet.

Advance reservations begin tomorrow (Friday 8/12) for DVC, Passholders and TIW. General public can't even begin to book until Tues 8/16.

I think she meant DVC units?

Ah. That makes a little more sense.

Although I didn't think a $2 discount plus advance booking would be make-or-break for a Food & Wine trip. Fest begins in 6 weeks. Kinda late to be making that decision, discount or not.

On the Restaurant board, people have said not to call MS, only the WDW Fest number, but that was before DVC sent out it's own e-mail to members. It certainly would seem easier to call MS from the number standpoint. What are you going to do, call MS or the TIW number, the Fest?

Thanks & how many can you buy per membership?

I don't think there is a limit. Just click on the link from the DVC website once you are logged in. I purchased 2 AP's and was not asked for any DVC specific info. I will however, probably have to show my DVC card when i redeem the voucher and the ticket window. That is probably where they will monitor it.

Yes, you will need to show your membership card when you pick up your APs. All adults (ages 18 +) will also need to show a government issued id with photo showing the same address as the member.

Alicia...the DVC discount on AP is limited to the member and his/her immediate family residing at the same address. No limit per membership other than the size of the family, and they do need to be at the member's address.

There is a limit of 8 DVC Annual Passes per membership. This applies to both DL & WDW APs (separately).

Thanks for the correction. Hopefully that wouldn't restrict too many households.

I got what I wanted for the F&W. We're only at BCV together for 1 day before the family comes, and so it was an easy pick for me, Sally James.:goodvibes Once the family comes, the vacation really means DGC time, for me at least!

Are there restrictions on #/who buys the MNSSHP tickets like the APs? My niece (& her family) are going to go to MNSSHP this year and I was thinking of getting her ticket as her bday gift. Would she be allowed to use it if I used my DVC discount to get it?

The Special Event tickets are advance purchase and will call pickup only. The member is required to show his/her membership card when picking up the tickets.

TU, it's listed as TBD for the dates i was considering for mixology:confused3

noob Q (1st kid free F&W;)), anybody know where they usually hold the tastings?

I booked mine this morning and they told me these events were at the Welcome Center.

Does anyone know do we pick up these tickets somewhere or do we just check in and our names are on a list or something like that?
