Late vacation home question

A little help please, My son is a high school senior and I plan to go either the week before and after Easter or the two weeks prior to Easter. I drive and will leave on Good Friday. Based on his testing schedule will determine the day I leave. I will know early/mid March my departure. What problems if any do you think I will have renting a vacation home close by. Formosa Gardens, emeralds Island etc. thanks guys.

You will find that homes get booked up very early for Easter. It is probably the busiest time of year and in 2002 there simply weren't enough homes to go around. If you leave it late you will either be faced with very high prices or not being able to get anything at all.
Having said that there was hotel space still available 2002 so you could take a chance and if you can't find a vacation home stay in a hotel.

Last Easter I was getting upwards of 5 enquiries a day for my house at Emerald Island in the run up to Easter (it was not even finished then either) from people who could not find anywhere.
Good luck but unless you book ahead Easter will be quite tricky to find somewhere.

I am not sure about Hillcrest, but I think it may be on Lake Davenport Estate. LD is quite nice, a little way out from Disney compared to the newer resorts but still nice.
I have also heard of a company called Hillcrest pool homes or something similar, as far as I know they are just a rental company and rent out homes on various resorts, if my memory serves me right they are on Vineland Road Kissimmee somewhere, I think you have to drive to the offices to get the keys then they tell you where you will be going.

The info the rental co sent is NOT specific, so I emailed the owners, THEY have been very helpful, can't say much for the company yet.

Davenport Lakes is on US27 which is at the west end of US192, it is a very nice community, the driving distances are approx. AK 15mins, MK/EP/MGM 25-35 minutes, however you will be on Disney property seeing the "purple" signs in about 15 mins if you use the Sherbeth Road shortcut. All of these times depend on the traffic on the day! Some days you will do it quicker, others slower.
