Late Summer/Early Fall Incentives

Just got off the phone with my guide, she said they were told this morning that the welcome home week incentives ends today. Of course it may be extended, who knows. That said we are going through with 150 Riviera points and were told we have 30 days to sign, so if the incentives get better 10/1 we can have it rewritten.

That makes sense to me. I would not rely on the welcome home weeks incentive still being there after today.

So, do a tour today, write contract on Sep 22nd, have 10 days to rescind and that safely puts you in a place to rewrite if Oct 1st incentives are better. Am I missing something?

You don't have to be within your rescission period to be eligible for a rewrite if the October incentives are better. You just can't have closed yet.

I think @Brian Noble noted it earlier (or on another thread) that this is what Disney currently does, but as a legal matter, they could hold you to your deal once you’ve past the 10 day rescission period. Given how recently they’ve allowed rewrites after the 10 days (e.g., with me just last month), probably little chance of the policy changing, but just noting it.

I would also guess that the number of people who took advantage of it could affect how hard the cut off is enforced. I assume they have some kind of budgeting for some of the discounts.

Yeah you're right they could decide at any time to hold to the rescission period. So my advice for anyone taking a tour today, stretch it out. Tour today, buy before that tour paperwork expires. Pretty sure you have at least a week or two before you have to actually sign your DocuSign paperwork, plus 10 days after you sign the paperwork to rescind.

DVC is not like other timeshares where you have to sign all your paperwork as soon as you say "yes" and they have notaries at the ready - thus starting the clock for rescission. They let you sign at your leisure using Docusign.

All this to say I feel like it's a low chance the October incentives are better than the current Welcome Home Weeks incentive. But you never know, why not give yourself options.

I just spoke with the guide today who double checked to make sure : Welcome Home weeks incentive ends 09/29 so that helps me avoid rushing to addon today. Im wondering if there will be some incentive on the Destiny's first wave sailing. Heard there was something on the Member cruise. Still may not be as good as the current though.

At a certain point you gotta get on with it if you're gonna do it.

"may be extended, modified or withdrawn at any time without notice"

if you want it, just buy it now.
Oh for sure - the fine print definitely says that. I just thought I'd share that link since there was conflicting info.

And I'm with you - I bought last week because I didn't want to risk the incentives ending early.

I was on the member cruise and I don’t remember thinking any of the discounts really moved the needle much— maybe it was $10 or so/pt below current pricing at the time, but I don’t think there were welcome home weeks discounts then?
