We are planning to do the MVMCP on Dec. 14. That will be a late night, so I know we will need to sleep in a little the next morning. Which park would you choose for a late start? I'm thinking AK. The safari isn't important to us, so that would save some time, but we do like AK. Any thoughts?
TIA,
Katy :sunny:

been there done that lol ... we went to MVMCP 3 times last xmas season LOL!!! We LOVED IT!!! We usually slept in and them ran to MGM 1st and rode TOT and RRR and booted to MK from there.

AK is cool! Closes early... but should be fun!

Here is a link to last years meet for MVMCP!

Was fun, bunch of us DIS'ers met at the carosel and rode together.. I won a Dis passport planner too. Should be a new thread for this years meet too.

I don't know. Not Epcot, that's for sure. Because there are really only three main fastpass atrractions, (TT, MS, S) they go very quickly, even in slow season. Its hard to do Epcot when it's crowded, unless of course, youre not there for the rides. World Showcase opens at eleven, making it feasible, especially if you entered through the International Gateway. MK would be packed, so I'd go with AK or MGM.

AK would be my best bet, Lots of it are shows and sightseeing, which can be seen in a leisurely manor. I feel that Disney-MGM Studios has too many shows that you need to plan yourself around and they're all great!

I would go to AK. We have always had great luck in the afternoons at AK. Everytime we have gone early it has been packed.

AK sounds good to me also, most visitors to AK arrive early and leave early and I have read that many go for just the morning hours and leave to go to another park for the afternoon. So AK does sound like the park for your late morning start.

I am pretty sure at that time of the year, MGM doesn't open until 11 a.m.. That would be my choice. AK still opens at 9, but closes at 5. I think MGM stays open till 7p.m. So if you want to get the most out of each day, save the late opener for the sleep in day! :goodvibes

I disagree about EPCOT. For me Disney isn't just about the "big" rides, in fact I don't even ride two of the the big three in EPCOT. I love the countries, and the rest of future world. If I have to arrive at a park later in the day I always choose EPCOT.

Hockeybabe - We've been to WDW many times of the year (all in the off seasons) including the first couple weeks of December last year and I don't ever remember the Studios openning after nine. Maybe they used to a couple of years ago, but not recently.

Thanks for the update. We were there in Jan 2004, and MGM didn't open till 11. Good news, since we are planning another winter trip next year. Thanks, and sorry for the mis-information! :goodvibes
