Late spring 2025 incentives (April 29-July 14)

With the exception of the pandemic period (when APs when off sale for a while), I think it's been about 20 years, give or take. Back in the 1990s, early DVC owners had free admission to the parks when staying on points.
No they mean the current extra discount you can get on 100+ points.

Yes. Seems like this time they offered an AP incentive of $1000 rather than the Chase Visa incentive? I'm curious how often having AP results in an incentive like that.

What is the straddle period on a deal that would let you lock in current incentives but allow you time to re-write the deal if better ones come out July 15 ?

On the "straddle" period, my understanding is that there are 2 things to keep in mind. When you do a formal "tour" with a guide (which can be virtual), the offers you receive are good for 7 days - I haven't confirmed this, but I don't think that changes if you do a tour in the 6 days leading up to incentives changing. The other thing to keep in mind is the 10-day cancellation period. You tell your guide verbally what you want to purchase - then they send you documents to e-sign. You have 10 days from signing those documents to cancel everything without penalty (and they will not charge your credit card until you actually sign). They will send you the documents to e-sign pretty quickly, but you can wait a couple of days to sign too, which can give you a couple extra days.

So, there are a number of ways to work it if you want to straddle an incentive period. I happen to to be traveling to WDW the week of 7/12-7/19, so I'm planning to do a formal in-person tour with my guide and get an offer that's good for 7 days (again, haven't personally confirmed they'll do this immediately before an incentive change date, but hopefully they will). Personally, I'm hoping incentives are better, in which case I will probably wait until September to move forward to save on a couple more months of dues. Of course, if you tell you're guide that's what you're going to do, they're likely to tell you the incentives can be pulled at any time, which is true, but probably pretty unlikely absent some really crazy fire sale type situations - hard to see that happening with Poly or RIV.

I believe you can sit on prepared docs for 30 days, but it'd be more secure to sign a few days before the new incentives are released to have the option to rewrite within your 10 day recission period.

I’m curious what the next incentives will look like, and which sold out resort they may temporarily discount.

I read somewhere you can get Magical Beginnings on sold out resorts; is that true?

Someone else on these boards (can't remember who it was) said no, you can't. Current language on the terms and conditions page says "at select" DVC resorts which would imply to me only the actively selling resorts on that page - https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/member-savings. But, I haven't confirmed with my guide, just my operating assumption.

I am very curious what “select” indicates, because sometimes even actively selling resorts don’t qualify (like Polynesian, at first). But not curious enough to ask my guide!😆

I'm curious if taking a tour onsite with a guide would open up any additional discounts? I have been interested in adding on for quite awhile but hoping for a great deal and just havent seen it yet :)

Not currently. Last year they had a welcome home incentive for a bit extra.

But, they do give you a thank you gift card for doing it…I think the amount is based on level of resort one is staying.

In January they gave me a $200 disney gift card for doing this. It was arranged ahead of time.

But you were not a member then, right?

Existing members get swag like water bottles and fanny packs...

We just got this (one) 7"x10" bag for touring Poly. It's cute, but too small to be of much use. You'd think they could at least give out two when a couple attend... 😡

That's one thing where Marriott Vacation Club definitely beats Disney at - as existing owners, we're getting $300 for attending a Marriott presentation next week. For 90 minutes on a resort day, I can do that!
