Late October water park questions

Could anyone fill me in...

I know Disney closes a water park at a time for refurb starting late October and then reopens that one and closes the other..

Is typhoon lagoon always the first one to be closed? And if we were planning to go down the 3rd week of October, when exactly would it close, is that cutting it close? We enjoy October for the Halloween/fall stuff but typhoon lagoon is a huge factor for this family. Would we be better off doing Columbus Day week? Are the crowds really take big of a difference??

this year, it'S blizzard that is close first..it will be close from october 25 to january..so if your trip is this year, you will be fine to do typhoon, also..if your going the third week of october, both will be open

Yes, Typhoon Lagoon is slated to be open all winter this year, so no matter your travel dates, you can safely plan to go to TL (weather permitting)!!!

This is actually for 2017 lol we are going in Nov this year

But we are doing our Disney wedding in 2017 and going back and forth between Columbus Day week or the third week of October.... I think from what I found a water park usually closes sometime at the end of the 3rd week? Or am I wrong?

Anyway do they alternate because if so then it looks like typhoon would be the one open in 2017 then??

We have been to WDW many times in late October/early November, and most years, Typhoon Lagoon was the waterpark that was closed. I think there has only been one year I can remember when BB closed first.

YMMV, of course, and Disney can always change their minds and do something different.
