Late October Availability at 7 months?

I am in the process of getting points (OKW) transferred to my account to make ressies for two of my nieces and their families. They would need two studios. Check in on Sunday, October 26th and check out on Thursday, October 30. I think I can find 2 studios at either BCV, BWV, WLV, or AKV at 7 months. What do you think?

If you call as soon as the 7 month window opens, I think you will be successful.

However, if it were me and I wanted BCV or BWV, I would call day by day. The very popular Food & Wine Festival means space at the EPCOT resorts books very quickly. It's unlikely that there would be any standard view or Boardwalk view studios at the BWV available at the 7 month mark, but there should still be Pool/Garden units available.

Concierge at AKV and very possibly the value & standard categories at AKV may very well be gone by the 7 month mark as well. But Savanna View (there are lots more of these) will probably be available.

VWL will be popular with those who plan to attend MNSSHP, but I think there will still be some space left when the 7 month mark arrives.

Above are just my thoughts - the main point is that you cannot procrastinate or you will be shut out. October, November and December are very popular times for DVC members to use their points at WDW.

And you may have to use the waitlist for some of those nights. Particularly since you are booking midweek, Halloween week, over Food and Wine.

I think you would have better chances at AKV or VWL. The Food and Wine Festival really makes availability difficult for BCV or BWV because of the location.

A few years ago, I had booked BCV for 10 nights at the 11 month period. Unfortunately, I had to change the dates at 9 months out and BCV was completely booked out of 1 bedrooms. I decided to call back at 7 month window and find out if it's available again (if not I was going to book another resort). No luck, however, they did have some studios available for some of the days, I was offered waitlisting but may in fact have to move. So I decided to find out of VWL had any 1 bedrooms available. YES! They mentioned there were quite a few available. I asked why BCV was so booked and they said that the Food and Wine festival have been growing in popularity and October is now quite a busy month.

I was able to transfer 1 studio from BWV to VWL for Halloween week in '07. I think that you could get at least VWL at exactly 7 months out. I didn't go day by day, I didn't want to wait list or have my DSis have to change rooms.

Last Oct I was looking for a studio and could only get random dates at either OKW or SSR and had to waitlist to fill in but those came thru. There is Wine and Food and golf tourneys then.

Thanks for the replies! I've told them BCV and BWV might be hard to get with F&W and MNSSHP going on. I always book my October BCV trips at 11 months. They will be happy with any of those 4 hotels and, since they are family, I don't mind checking back or going on a waitlist once I get the additional points transferred in for them.

I've already marked my calendar to call day by day beginning March 27th.

Last year we got a one-bedroom at less than seven months at bcv, probably like, six months and two weeks. We had to waitlist one night, and it took a LONG time to come through, but about fie weeks before we left it cae through for us. We were there from 10-20 to 10-27. Best of luck!
