Late night Buses...what do we do?

I'm looking for advice on the best route to get back to our resort using Disney transportation (I'd REALLY prefer not to get a cab if I don't have to) and I'm a bit worried about it being next to impossible.

We are staying at POFQ and have reservations at the California Grill during wishes (which will start at 10pm) we wanted to have some time after wishes to watch the Electric Water Pageant from the beach before heading back to POFQ. With some resort exploration/relaxation time I'm guessing that puts us at about 1130 or so. Is our only option for getting back to POFQ taking a bus from a monorail resort to Downtown Disney and transferring there? Obviously it would be A LOT easier to just hop on the MK bus back to our resort, but they don't run as late as 1130 do they?

That will be cutting things a little late for MK bus service. Those buses will run until they clear the bus depot after closing, which usually is an hour or so. As a result, 11:30 is typically after the time those buses stop running and you probably shouldn't be relying on them to get you back to POFQ. If there's evening EMH at MK that night, however, the buses will run until they clear out the late guests and you are in luck.

Other than that, taking a bus from a monorail resort to DTD and switching to the POFQ bus there probably is your only option using Disney transport.

I agree, that's going to be cutting it close. I know it's extra money, but having to pay for a cab to avoid the worry of not knowing how you will get back to PO is worth it. Sounds like you have some great plans that shouldn't be rushed.

Look at taking the cab as a "worst case scenario". They will be easy to get at the Contemporary.

The Electric Water Pageant starts at 9 PM nightly; if Wishes is at 10, chances are the EWP boats will be long gone by the time the OP gets down to the beach.

hmm...if this is the case we may be able to catch an MK bus afterall! thanks to all of you for the input
