late may weather ?

Hi
I'll be in Dl from 18-27th of may
I know that daytime is warm but my question is how about mornings & after sundown ? will I need a haevy sweatshirt ? or will I be ok with a lightweight cardigan ?
Not that I don't have both but a heavy one will take more space in my backpack & will be heavier to carry .What about rain that time of year ? usually heavy rain ? or just showers ?

i would never go by a weather guide....mainly because in the last several years the weather has been so drastically different each and every year at the same time that you cant know anymore...for example...2 years ago I went to DL in march...it was freezing cold all day long and at night it was horrid cold...last year at the same time I went and it was nice during the day and cool enough to have to wear sweatshirts or jacket at night...another example...last year in Feb. we went to DL and it was very comfortable in the daytime not really chilly but you needed a light jacket.. and at night time it got cold...now the same time this year we went again and it was so hot that I was dying...people were wearing shorts and at night you could put on a sweatshirt but didnt need anything heavier than maybe a sweat jacket...so the only thing I ca suggest to you is just to start looking at the weather a couple weeks before your trip and go with what it says and always remember as one of my friends told me and why I never listen to her I dont know but whatever the temp shows on weather.com, add about 5 degrees because they take the temp from the airport or something and its always a little bit warmer than it shows
