We are thinking of going late January/early February 2007. How are the park crowds and the weather that time of year? Thank you for any input.

we went last Feb, and it was probably our best Disney trip ever......I think we lucked out on weather (all days sunny and warm), and crowds were excellent. The only downside is the weather is very variable in Feb.

Hi Gloria,

Crowds are very manageable.

Weather is very unpredictable. You could have days in the 80s with cool nights, or you could have mornings near freezing with afternoons in the 40s. You could have both of those weather scenarios within a few days of each other. Pack lots of layers plus gloves...and a swimsuit!

This is when we usually go and it is normally a great time to be at WDW. Short waits for rides (sometimes you can just walk right on!). As the other posters have said, weather can be variable - we just bring layers and add or delete as needed. Only downside is this is a time of year when they often close down rides for maintenance - this year, for example, Test Track will be closed while we are there ;-( And the nighttime parades are sometimes only certain nights instead of every night. But all in all, an excellent time to be at the World!

We normally go late Jan/early Feb and it has always been fantastic. Less people, and we have only had 1 cold day in 3-4 years of going.

Have to agree with the comments already made. We always go late Jan early Feb and the crowds are near to none existant. The longest we have ever waited is 15 mins for the Kilman Safari at AK.

We have had heat waves and a cold spell but never rain! This did not effect our enjoyment one bit and we even hit the water parks!

25 days and counting!! (I am driving my husband and colleagues at work mad - all I keep saying is I CAN"T WAIT!!)

We've had rain and very cold (hats and gloves!) days... but the nonexistent crowds are worth it!

Thanks to all for the input. I think we are going to try it. We are looking at January 27, 2007 through February 3, 2007 so am I correct that we would avoid all the winter break crowds?

Ill let you know when we return!! :) We are going for 4 nights Jan 29-Feb 1st.

We leave on Jan 21 for 4 nights. Never been in Jan. so hoping for sweet warmth!!

Yes - you will miss all the winter break crowds.

Honestly - this is our preferred time to go to Disney because the weather is mild and there are no crowds. I've also been in Sept, Nov, March and May and NOTHING beats late Jan/Early Feb for us so far. I enjoy people watching and seeing the families around me BUT I don't like "fighting" them for a spot on the bus or a place in line - lol! I also cannot stand the heat so January is perfect for us :)

We go early Feb for the last two years and early march as well. March was actually colder than Feb for us on those years, so go figure. We had great weather in Feb. Crowds were pretty low EXCEPT the weekend of the superbowl last year that was in Jacksonville. Don't want to put a damper on your trip plans but that is Superbowl 2007 weekend and its in MIAMI. Lots of Dads go two 1/2 hours south for the game and all the moms and kids go to Disney. Just something to think about. We always seem to go on Superbowl weekend and I am glad that there won't be a Superbowl within 3 hours from Disney this year!

Just a thought. If you are able to change your dates I would pick the next weekend. If not, don't worry about it. It still won't be as crowded as say spring break.

Thanks--I did not think about the Superbowl 2007! I really cannot go any later than that week since I am an accountant. Since we would fly in on that Saturday, hopefully, it would only be two days dealing with the Superbowl crowds. However, I am not sure my husband would be too keen on missing the Superbowl since he hosts a party every year.
