Hello everybody I have a interesting problem. On the way home we have a 9pm flight home. If we check out at 11 and give them our luggage to take to the airport what do we do the rest of the day? I think magical express would take us to the airport at 6. What can you do for 7 hours while carrying around your carry on luggage? Can you store your carry on luggage somewhere and get it later?

Has anybody been in the situation before? If so what did you do?

You can check your carry-on luggage with bell services at your resort. We did this with our last trip. You leave it with them, head to the parks or other resorts or DS - and then return to your resort a little before your ME pick up time to retrieve your carry-ons from bell services! It worked perfectly for us.

You can leave your carry on bags at the hotel. They normally have a storage room near the front desk/bell services that works like coat check - they tag your bags and give you the corresponding ticket stub. Then you can go about your day like you would on any other.

Like others have said, you just leave your bags with Bell services.

Plan on getting back to your resort an hour before your DME pickup time.

Once you check out, head over to the bell captain and they can store your bags for the day. On the last day, we also had later flights so we checked out early and headed to the parks at rope drop. You'll be surprised how much you can do with a morning and half an afternoon. I have also done Disney Springs during the final day. Usually you can get there by the time Disney Springs opens (mid-morning), eat lunch, and head back to the hotel by mid-afternoon. Just make sure to give yourself enough time to get back to the hotel with WDW transportation. They say buses are every 20 minutes, but the buses run less during the early afternoon.

We've asked for late checkout, gone to a park and have gone swimming. You can really do whatever you want!

We leave everything with bell services but take with us in the parks all passports, extreme valuables ( ipad), medicines, glasses. ) things we NEED for our long flight. In case things go missing.a larger purse, back pack suffice

We actually plan for this :D We always get in early on arrival day and leave late on departure day. We have a 9:50pm flight home for our November trip. The DME usually picks up 3 hours before departure so we can usually get a full park day in. We leave our luggage with the front desk.................we've never had an issue. Because our flight is soooooooooo late this time I'm looking into maybe renting a car for the trip to the airport. Mostly because of how crazy TSA is getting.......Orlando airport is one of the worst.

The last day of my trip, I visited Animal Kingdom. When I got to the park, I rented a locker for my purse and IPad. Worked great.

Unless you're flying on a non-participating airline, you can check your luggage with RAC (resort airline check-in) and it'll get transported to the airport.

We plan on going to Disney Springs and having a pool day on our last day (our flight is at 7:30pm).

Very true..........and I know many have said they like that.

I'm a bit more "controlling" :-) so I like to keep hold of my luggage (its mostly carry on stuff) so I just leave the luggage with the front desk and when we return to take the DME we pick it up................both ways work!

This past April, we had a 9pm flight. We dropped our checked luggage at resort airline check-in, and our carry-on with bell services. Then we went to the MK for a few hours in the morning before monorailing to EPCOT. Because we stayed at BWV, we didn't need to wait for a bus back to the resort, and took the boat back at 4pm. This gave us time to grab an early dinner at Big River before collecting our carry-on luggage and boarding DME.

1: Do you want to check out at 11am? Call front desk from the room after you arrive and you can request up to a 1pm checkout time without additional cost. they might saw no depending on how crowded it is or how many others are also late checking out (I've never been told no). It's fast, abotu a 3-4 minute phone call.

2: Ditto on check your carryon, but also include anything you might want to change into in case you get hot, sweaty, wet, whatever while your 7 hours before you leave is happening. make sure it's carry on friendly. Also leave a little room in the bag in case you finally break down for that thing you didn't buy the rest of the trip when your upset about leaving.

In the past we've done:
- vip ultimate thrills tour (finishes about 2, you get back to the resort about 3-4).
- ran into the parks again.
- went lazy in the parks just enjoying our favorite snacks
- great only at disney late lunch/early dinner.
- enjoyed the pools.
- did something we normally wouldn't do like sorcerers of the magic kingdom (takes about 6 hours to play the game). similar games in epcot and ak.

Basically we request late checkout and we go where the day takes us.. what do we not want to miss 1 last time? is there somewhere we can't eat at home? do we just want to decompress and have a quiet final day?

One thing we really love to do is just go all out the last night.. with 1pm checkout that allows more time to sleep so running around until disney asks you to leave (or we're just done) i have to say is what we like doing the best even though it's not check out day.

We add a park day in this case. We had a later flight once. We just added the day and checked out before the flight.

Bell Services at your resort will hold your carry on bags for you. They give you a claim check and you just pick your bags back up before you get on Magic Express. Easy Peasy, we do it all the time. Then go to a park, visit resorts, use the pool or whatever you want all day long.

We always take a late flight and leave our carry ons with Bell Services. We go to a park and plan to get back to the resort about an hour before our DME pickup.
