late flight home

I know this has been discussed before but the search didn't provide any good hits so here goes: For those that have late flights on their checkout day, what do you do with your luggage? We've always driven to WDW and the only time I went by myself when I flew, I had an early flight. If the latest you can check out is 11 and your flight leaves at 5, can you check in your luggage early (thinking 8ish, go to park, them come back to resort at 3 for ME? Just the idea of all that is stressing me out lol.

come back at 2pm for DME -

yes you can definitely check in your luggage early with bell services.

now if you are flying SW or any other airline that does NOT participate in DME luggage - you have to go get it and take it with you on the bus.

if your airline participates in DME - don't think you have to do anything else.

Just check your luggage in at the airport check-in counter at your resort. They will check your luggage (as long as it's one of the airlines that participate in the DME program), and print your boarding pass. The DME bus picks you up about 2-3 hours before your airline departure time. (can't remember whether it's 2 or 3 hours). If your airline doesn't participate than keep your luggage with bell service and pick them up before you go to board the DME bus. Works out great and you don't have to worry about your luggage all day while you are at the parks.

We do this every trip. We fly SWA, so we just check our bags with bell services and head to the parks. Usually Epcot for the last day. You will get your ME information on your door the day before you check out. Usually, they will pick you up 3 hours prior to your flight.

We get back to the resort about 30-45 minutes before our ME pickup. We get our bags about 15 minutes before, and wait for the ME bus.

It's easy!

Is is possible to request a late checkout? DH and I are eating at Chef Mickey's at 9, and we don't want to be rushed trying to finish packing. I doubt it will be an issue, but it'd be nice if we have late checkout to fall back on.

In any event, we'll still be leaving our luggage at bell services so we can get in a little more MK before DME whisks us away.

No late checkouts with DVC. The villas take longer to clean than the hotel rooms, so DVC doesn't allow this.
