Long story .....We thought we had everything all set but somethings have changed. Any suggestions of what to do with our time. Our flight does not leave until after 6 pm. Thanks!!!

Not sure how you were planning on getting to the airport, but I would get a one way rental and either go to nasa or downtown Disney. Some will advise you to get a day room at the airport and just relax.

We are currently debating between Happy Limo (we used them before and they were awesome) and going to the airport or a rental car. I was reading that other than the mall or airport there is NOT a lot to do if you go straight to the airport. I called asked about the day rate and it would be $110 and we would need 2 rooms. We are trying to weigh our options. Thanks!

I would also go with a one-way rental. You could go play mini golf at WDW and then visit Downtown Disney, visit Kennedy Space Center or spend the day at Sea World.

We just did the day room at the Hyatt and it was very nice to be able to relax at the pool, watch TV, etc. Especially when our 8:15 pm flight became 10:45 pm. I am not sure why you would need 2 rooms since you aren't spending the night. It was more of a landing pad for us since most of our time was spent at the pool.

If it's during good swimming weather months we rent a one way car from the port and spend an awesome day at Typhoon Lagoon! We get off the ship by 830am and are usually entering TL shortly after opening. It's a great way to spend a day keeping the post-cruise blues at bay. We eat lunch there and then shower around 2pm, head to the airport after and have plenty of time to check in for our 530pm flight. We've done this 3 times now and we highly recommend it!

We stayed in the airport from 9 to 610 with 2 small kids....Not planned out very well, but I had no idea the logistics of doing anything else....

Our reason for the 2 rooms is there are 8 of us. We have booked 2 rental cars and now will see where the day leads us. (many options) Thanks everyone for your suggestions, tips, and advice. We rented from AVIS. Has anyone else?

We have the same situation but in Miami. I just booked 2 nights at a nice beach front resort to cover the 7 hours we have to burn. We have young children and are a family of five and we have a 7 hour flight home. So we cannot do anything too active. We need a nice low key home base and with as little stress as possible. I need some serious time to get myself and my stuff organized for the flight home with a busy toddler.

And we want the trip to end on a good note.

Why do you need 2 rooms? Just jam your group into 1.

I also recommend a day room at the Hyatt. You can relax by the pool, take a nap in the room, etc. and not have to worry about getting to the airport since you're alrady there. You don't wat to be rushing around trying get extra stuff in right before you go home. You want to be relaxed.

We faced this same situation last month. Our flight was originally at 5:15, but was delayed to 5:45. We took a shuttle to Avis, then took the rental car to Downtown Disney. We shopped, browsed, and had lunch at Earl of Sandwich, then headed back to the airport around 2 (we like to err on the side of caution).

Rate change, we did the Hyatt Day room last Nov and it was still $99 + taxes, called to try to reserve a room this May (flight is at 4:15 but have a young boy) and the rate was now $135, so we had to give it a pass this time. But sure might have done it had our flight been 6 or later... since you don't know for sure if the weather will be enjoyable for the pool, it is hard to know it will be more than just space to chill. But loved the pool last Nov, this year we are there in a rainy/thunderstorm season. Anyone ever run into any indoor choices, we have Chuckie Cheese here in CA but I did not find one close for the airport, or anything else for younger kids (he's too young for mini golf to hold his interest long). Any indoor trampoline areas/climbing zones for more ages 4, 5 and 6? Indoor places with maybe pizza/kid games/fun stuff? Hoping someone is a local who knows any neat possibility. Ice skating rink? Either near the airport or for an alternative if it just really rains one of the days we had hoped to do a Disney park. Rainy day options???
