Our reservation for crt is 9:30 p.m., which means we probably won't get back to Poly until midnight or so. I figure that getting the little ones to bed that late will cause a slow start the next morning.

The kids are both boys, ages 2 and 7, and the only reason we are eating at crt is because the 7 year old is determined to see inside the castle. Don't know whether or not he is looking for dragons, or whatever, but princesses are not his thing, for sure. Both are picky eaters, also.

Do you think we should cancel the reservations, or would the "Castle Experience" be worth the trouble? :confused3

Wow, IMO, I think you will have some problems the next morning. We had a very late CRT one year and 3 of the 4 little ones we were with didn't even make it to dinner (my dh forfeited and took the sleepyheads back to our resort).
If you have night-owls then go for it - but plan a sleep-in morning (maybe b'fast at resort and pool :thumbsup2 )
The year dd missed it a nice CM at the CRT check-in podium let me take dd up to "see" the restaurant. I don't know if you'd be able to do that too.
Also, keep trying back for an earlier adr. Availability changes all the time.:)
Good luck and have a nice trip.

The ADR is probably too late, however there are a couple of strategies I can think of:

1. Keep calling to try to get an earlier time, no matter if its bfast or lunch. Your 7yo has a dream and you're trying to make it come true.

2. If you KNOW you'll be eating late that day move meals and plan for naps accordingly. If you think of CRT as an event for the night like planning to stay up for Wishes. Though many families try choose keep to their regular schedules at WDW, I say Disney isn't regular so make the adjustments needed.

3. Nothing wrong with planning a slow start for the next AM or day. We did the Pirate and Princess Party and got back well past midnight. We had an 11am ADR the next day and pretty soft plans for the balance of the day. Even those plans got changed when rain showed up.

Thanks, periwinkleblue and septbaby!

Since we have adr's at Chef Mickey's for breakfast the next morning, it looks like we will cancel the late crt reservations. Maybe we will be lucky and get to "look in" at the restaurant, too, later in the week. It won't hurt to try. I appreciate your replies!

The other thing about the castle dinner is that Cindy greets you as you come in, but she's the only princess. The Fairy Godmother and mice will come in every 30-45 minutes or so to do celebrations, but not anything like in a normal character meal. (In your case, this would probably be a plus).

Also, I'm not sure what time fireworks are on the night you're going, but Wishes from inside CRT is really a treat!

I'm sure you'll have a good trip, whatever your decision!

I would try to get an earlier ADR. That is way too late. I love the inside of the castle and in my opinion, its worth going there, but only if you can get an earlier time.

I wouldn't do it. That's way too late - especially if you have a morning ADR the next morning. Keep calling for an earlier ADR - you might be able to get one. But if it were me, I would cancel the 9pm CRT.

Thanks, everyone! I think I will set my timer and call every hour to try to get a better time for crt!:)

Tinks -- I got your pm, but couldn't answer because I haven't posted enough. Our reservation is for Saturday, October 18 at 9:30 p.m. I'm sure that is too soon to be useful to you. Sorry.
