Just wanted to see if anyone had some info on late checkout. What time is late checkout? How much more is it for late checkout? Or is ther a way to leave our bags at the resort while we go out for a while since we have a late flight? Thanks in advance for any reply.

We were able to check out at noon instead of 11, but even if you can't get later checkout, or aren't leaving for awhile, you are welcome to check your bag with bell services.

Our flight isn't till 7pm on departure day. We will be at BC and were hoping to get in an afternoon swim before leaving. Is there anyway to keep the room a few extra hours? Do they have showers or changing facilities otherwise? I'd hate to head back to Minnesota 'pool fresh'.

I don't know what resort you are staying at but most, if not all of the resorts have a public restroom by the pool that has a shower.

That shouldn't be a problem. When we were at AKL last summer, we checked out of our room at 11, and then swam all afternoon. We kept one bag with our clean clothes, and then changed in the locker rooms. There are showers and hair dryers. We just put the wet swim suits in plastic bags.

It's no problem

Wow, I've never noticed those facilities. That will be great. Does anyone know where this is at Stormalong Bay?

It all depends on the resort and how booked it is. We have asked to do it twice and once were told we would be unable to, but ended up leaving 1 day early to escape a hurricane. They were completely booked w/people coming in from the coast for shelter.
And this feb. we were able to stay late, we didn't check out til about 2pm. At first they wanted to charge us for checking out late, but we had had some problems w/smoking, etc in our room (seeping in thru the vents) and we were in a nonsmoking room. We had previously mentioned this, so I'm not sure if they noted it or what..but they had said due to our inconviences, that we wouldn't have to pay. i want to say it was like 50-60 dollars that they wanted, this was at POR.

Lockers are a great feature considering all the folk who want to do just this, but need to make sure their wallets etc are safe while taking a dip. I assume most, if not all the resorts have this feature. Are these lockers the quater operated ones or are they assigned by a desk?

Our "late" check-out today was for 12. We couldn't get anything later. Disappointing since our flight out wasn't until 9:30 pm (actually, it ended up being 10:30 pm). We just checked our bags. Not a big problem.
