Late Check Out?

I know we can request a late check out but what are the odds of being refused at the end of august (we'll be staying at AOA)?

Our flight out isn't until the following morning and we'll be switching a hotel airport the night we leave.

the kids might want to swim before we leave disney (I am purposely leaving the last day unscheduled so we can swim, do a last few hours at a park, whatever. It would be a pain in the butt to go swimming and then have to carry a change of clothes with us.

You can get a late check if they are not that busy. Have front desk call housekeeping as they are the ones that approve it or you can call say the next day. I have done several late checkout in the past, since I stay deluxe it is at 1PM but I usually stay until about 12 noon but I do call housekeeping that I am through with the room. I am not sure what time is late check out at the AOA. Good luck. You should be okay but it depends on how busy. I know when I stayed at the BWI Club this past Dec the CM said I wouldn't be able to get it as they were busy but I got it. I stay at the BWI Club level several times of the year and they know I only need an hour or so. I got it in June & July & in Oct

Keep in mind that you can always have them hold your luggage and change at the resort if you go to the pool. We have done this in the past with no problem. Well, almost - I hate getting onto a plane with a bag of wet clothes. So if you have the time to hit a dryer, go for it. Late check out really doesn't give you much more time but Disney has ways to help when you have a late flight.

WDW LATE CHECKOUT:

1) DVC rooms do not allow late check-outs.
2) Other resort late checkouts are permitted by Housekeeping, not the Front Desk.
3) It depends upon
. . . number of check-ins and check-outs that day
. . . occupancy of the resort the night before
. . . how nice you talk to Housekeeping
. . . staffing and/or absenteeism of maids
. . . phase of the moon
4) If allowed,
. . . check-out 11:00am-1:00pm, no charge
. . . check-out 1:00pm-3:00pm, up to 50% of the room rate
. . . check-out 3:00pm or later, up to 100% of room rate
5) Housekeeping decides if you will be charged or not be charged a fee.
6) This is done by the Housekeeping Manager after the room is cleaned.
7) You will know if there is a charge when you see the credit card statement.
8) You can store your luggage with Bell Services.
9) When ready to leave, use the pool restroom or spa to shower & change.

Lots of great info already here. I will just add that I bring zip-lock plastic bags for wet bathing suits & then put them in our carry-on bags.
