We would love a late check-out when we stay at the PPH in June. We leave on a Tuesday. Has anyone had any luck with this? Did you call ahead or ask at the front desk? Thanks for any advice on extending the stay!!

I know this one well as I like to stay up late and sleep in a bit on vacation...

...for the three resort hotels, they will only grant a late check out on the "day of" departure...meaning they won't grant it the night before you leave if you call, only that morning of and if they are not booked up and need the rooms.

Part of this is due to the high volume of requests. Typically on my day of departure, I get up, pack up, check out, and drop my bags at the bell desk. They will hold them for ya all day so you can still go enjoy the day at the park and you can leave your car at the resort all day if you have one. They you can go get your bags and depart whenever you want to. The few times that I went back to go get my bags to check out mid day, I regretted it and it was a sprint to get back to the hotel in time. Not worth it.

The best way to get late check out is to rent another night!

I did request twice when we were staying at the Grand and were denied due the room being booked. You need to check that AM. Good luck,

Jack

I have tried this at the DLH as we weren't flying out until 4:00 and was told they could accomodate me, for $150....Yeah, no. I wasn't trying to keep it until 4, just another hour or two...They said they could for half the nights rate only, obviously we just left ours bags with the bellhop and spent the day in the parks.

Several years ago I asked at the PPH on the morning of check-out if we could extend our stay until noon, and they had no problem with that. I think it worked since we were only asking for one hour and since the hotel didn't seem to be fully booked. When we stayed at the DLH two years ago in June, we didn't bother asking for any extended check-out time, just left our bags with bag check and went to the parks for a few hours before hitting the road for the drive home.

The resort hotels will usually only extend 1 hour for free.

Outside the resort, Candy Cane Inn, the premium room check out is 2pm.

Hilton allows a 4pm check out for $50. We LIKE this one!
