Arriving for early Feb. 05 trip on a Friday at GF(AP garden view)btwn 5-8 pm. approx. Will I suffer poor room assignment due to late check-in? Last year go t upgraded to great Lagoon view w/ a relatively early check-in. Thanks

I don't think so, especially that time of year. But you never know, and I doubt anyone knows for sure. I like to check in early, but have checked in as late as 10pm and got upgraded from a woods view to courtyard view at WL.

Last Thurs. we checked into the AKL at about 1:30 in the morning. When we got there the person handed us our cards which were already printed, everything was laying there waiting for us. We were however upgraded to a deluxe.

Just call ahead and make sure the front desk knows you will be arriving late. I did this at the GF last cristmas time and got exactly what I had requested!

Have Fun:D

We checked into the CR last December around 1am after flight delays. The only thing we weren't able to get was a third floor room (garden wing). We did, however, get a great corner room on the first floor with a view of the lagoon!

Supposedly, rooms are assigned 3 days ahead. But, if someone pays for late check out and had a great room, that would be available for someone checking in late. (Just posted about this on the "Help room assignment" thread.) We were not assigned a room that we requested because the person had late check-out. When I found this out I said I was willing to wait for the room, and they gave it to me. Otherwise, it probably would have gone to some lucky person checking in late!

We usually arrive at MCO around noon-ish, and arrive at our resort whenever transportation gets us there, but usually around 2pm. DS & I might make a trip in the spring which will get us in to MCO around 10:30pm (so I guess that would put us at WDW close to midnight?).

How different is it checking in that late at night?

On all our past trips we have checked in to POR anywhere from 9AM (flew in afternoon before and stayed at airport) to 4 PM. We've never gotten anywhere near our stated choice, except for nonsmoking which we needed for asthmatic daughter.

In April just DH and I were at POFQ. We checked in at 8PM on Good Friday and ended up in bldg 5, first floor with a view of the pool and main bldg, just steps away. The check in was fast, and easy. By far the best location we've ever had.And this at one of the busiest times of the year.

So I give up! I do not think the time really makes a difference that much at all!

A couple of years ago at ASMo, our flight was a little late getting in and we arrived at WDW at about 5pm. Told at check in that there were no non smoking rooms available 'as we were checking in late' and we were allocated a smoking - it was terrible and I dread this ever happening again - we switched rooms after two days - no available rooms until then as the resort was full.

I dread this happening a second time as we are checking in at POP even later this year.
