Hello again!
We will be checking in at the Swan very late on our first night - flight gets in at 10pm in Orlando - so check in will be 11pm or later. Will this mean we get whatever room they happen to have left over? We've booked a resort view with a balcony - would love to be where we can see EPCOT. Also because of SPG status were hoping for an upgrade (maybe Club level use?) Do you think I should just forget any hope for a great room because of our late arrival? I did mention arrival time in the special request area when we made our reservation - will this help? Anyone with experience I'd love to hear from you. This is our first time staying at the Swan - we love other Starwood properties and decided to give Swan a try instead of our usual - Yacht Club.
Thanks for any and all information!

I'm interested in this as well. We'll be checking into the Dolphin at 11:00 ish on a Friday night. I know a lot of people have said that you should stay at the hotel at the airport, then check in the next morning, but--well, I just want to get there and be there! That's the whole reason we're flying out right after work that day!I'm calling the hotel the day before arrival to confirm a late arrival and then I guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Anybody had good luck getting a nice room with a late check-in?

Agree with you about the airport hotel. We tried that our last trip. Even getting up early the next morning and heading right out - we still missed most of the morning in the park. This is a short trip - we want to enjoy every minute we can! :D

make your room requests online a couple weeks before you leave. I would then call the hotel the day you are scheduled to arrive to see if your room has been assigned and make any additional requests then. I am pretty sure they assign rooms the day before but I am not sure.

The staff members at the front desk have always been really accomodating. We've arrived first thing in the morning as well as very late at night. During our last visit, our DS was having difficulty sleeping in the hotel room because we overlooked the water and he could hear the water taxi's horns. Within a day he was fine and we ended up staying in our room for the remainder of the trip, but staff at the front desk went above and beyond to find us another room even though the hotel was booked solid.

We checked in at 11:30 pm this past January (the weekend of the marathon) at the Swan and I made a comment to the desk clerk that I hope did didn't get the scraps for room selection because it was so late. She laughed and said that the room selections were done in advance so there was no impact. We were also given all of our "requests" (king bed-smoking.).. Hope this helps.... steve c
