I will be staying at a Universal resort for the first time in a couple weeks. My flight doesn’t arrive until 9pm. Do I need to contact the resort to let them know we will be in late? We always stay at Disney and that’s never been an issue but just want to make sure I’m covering my bases.

Also we will be staying at Surfside...if anyone wants to offer any unrelated tips/tricks about the resort I’d be interested in hearing them. Thanks!

If your flight is delayed, call the hotel if you won’t be checking in until after midnight.
Your reservation will be held then for you.

We had a split stay recently at HRH/ESS, with a 2 bedroom suite at ESS. The room was spacious and the kids liked having their own beds, but there was not enough storage for the 4 of us. The pool/bar area was nice and the Mahi Mahi I had at the food court was way better than I was expecting. There was always a bus ready, so no waiting to get to the parks each day.

I would call and let them know you will be a evening arrival. We did a few days before our check in day, and they had room ready for us upon checking in.

It was a good thing we did get that late arrival note. Our 10pm arriving flight was delayed, and we did not get to the resort until after midnight. Was so nice to have been said to us, glad you made it, and here’s your room keys.
