Late booking?

Hi,

Im looking to go to Florida for the first time in October 2003 maybe with Travel city direct staying in one of there villas the only problem is for various reasons we wouldnt be able to book untill june, being as this is so late do you think there will be any availabilty? There is no way round this unfortunatly, If anyone has stayed in these villas with travel city direct I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

I don't have any experience of booking a villa with TCD but, based on our past trips in October, I think you may have difficulty getting what you want if you plan to travel over the school half term .

However, I keep reading that bookings are down this year because of the situation in Iraq, so you never know. You won't find out for sure unless you ask! Although you said you can't book until June, matbe you could ring TCD and ask what the October availability is like at the moment - at least it might give you an indication of what to expect in June.

There won't be any problem with finding accommodation in Orlando - there is such a huge number of hotels, motels, private villas, etc that you are guaranteed to be able to find something even if it is not exactly what you were looking for in terms of price or location. What might be more of a problem is flights from the UK. These can get fully booked, particularly for school holidays such as half-terms. If in June you find that none of the package operators have any availability (I would be surprised if this was the case) you could look at booking your holiday independently just so long as you can get flights to Orlando.

I may also be trying my luck for a late booking around that time - certainly, accommodation shouldn't be a problem.

Flights are also available that are usually fully booked but as Rob says, at that time of year they may be more difficult to get - but if you are booking in June, I think you might be okay, particularly if you are prepared to be flexible.
