Late Booking for January Trip????

Here’s my situation. We recently bought a resale contract (our first) on BCV for 280 pts with a February use year. This contract has a delayed closing on September 27th. We will have 69 pts left for 2010. We are going in January for marathon week/weekend (Jan 4th-10th) so using the points won’t be a problem. I’m just wondering about booking.

From what I understand it will take several weeks for our points to show up in the Disney system. That will put us into Oct/Nov time frame seeing the points in our account (?) correct? Then I will have to book. Will anything be available two months out? Not choosy about where we stay. Would like to stick with a studio as not to eat into my 2011 points to much. Are the studios all gone that late? Is it luck of the draw or no way anything will be there? Just a unique situation that we will not be in again. I am a careful planner but can’t book until we have the points. Thanks in advance for any advice/suggestions!

I believe, but am not sure that you can book a cash reservation then change over to points for part of the reservation when they become available and Welcome Home.

No, not possible, two different inventories.

Marathon weekend could be tough. And studios usually go first. Good luck.

Your best bets will be OKW or SSP. When you get your points call ms and they will check all resorts for available studios for you. You might get lucky. We just booked akv club level for January 23-26 to use our remaining points. We also have a February use year. Good luck and Welcome Home.

If the closing is Sept 27th, I think that your information should be in your account by mid October at the latest.

We closed and were in the Disney system within 5 days and able to book a room with points within 7 days from closing.

I gotta ask. Was this a resale or Disney direct?
