Late arrival worries

Arriving around 8:00 pm on a Friday early Feb. for a 7 night stay. Should I be worried about getting a less desirable room with late check-in? Any strategies t minimize this risk/ Thanks

We have checked in after midnight before and still received an awesome room.

Not much control over your room choice if the resort is full. If for some reason you weren't satisfied with your room you could try to switch for some of the other nights.

We're in the same boat. Our flight doesn't arrive until 9:45 p.m. on a Friday, so we'll have a late check in at POR for 4 nights and then switching to Poly for 3 nights. Like the previous poster said, if we get a room we consider undesireable, we'll request a change.

I think some of it depends on how full the resort is at any particular time. There are always people coming and going.

Mark Smith - we were there Feb 2004 the 2nd thru the 9th and the place was awesomely empty!! If you are going before Presidents' Day, I wouldn't worry too much about crowds/full resorts.

Have a SUPER trip!! I LOVE that time of the year at WDW!! It is the best!

hi guys, i went on oct 20th-27th wich was the golf classic weekend. we arrived at akl about 11:00PM. We were upgraded from standard view to a savannah view, even with it being so late. I didnt request anything. Hope everything works out great for your trip.

We have checked in many times late in the evening and have always gotten a great room!! Not to worry.

We have coincidently found that our late checkins (though late was not by choice) got us better rooms than when we have arrived in the morning. I dont know why this is but we had the best room when we arrived after 11pm during our trip in May 2004. We got a King waterview upgrade and let me tell you, when we woke up the next morning to the most beautiful view of the lake at CSR and the sun coming up, it was amazing.
Try sending your usual requests prior to your trip and be friendly when checking in and hope for the best. We have never been given a less than average room, just some have been better than others. I think it will work out fine, Best of luck.

Where are you staying? We checked into Pop after midnight on Dec 1 and we got a great room.
