Late Addition to Dining Reservations

My sister is bringing her boyfriend with her on on trip coming up in three weeks. I have made all the dining reservations already. Is there a way to add him to our reservations? Going from 5 guests to 6 guests at all meals.

You can try calling or see if table for 6 is available. From our experience last trip, most reservations were able to accommodate us when we were trying to add a person at the podium, but there were two spots they couldn’t because of capacity and seating restrictions.

Change the ones you can in advance and keep your fingers crossed for the others.

5 to 6 is likely fine, because there are no tables explicitly for five people. They would be six-tops.

When you go to checkin there's a spot on the app that will let you add a guest. I would still try to change any you can now just to make it easier, but you should be able to show up with 1 extra person and they'll almost always seat you. This was always our experience before mde and has been since as well.

This isn’t always true! Last week our party of 9 had ADRs at Sci-Fi for parties of 6 and 3, but we really wanted be seated as 5+4. I checked in in person to tell them, and the CM told me to use mobile checkin and reduce the 6 to 5 and increase the 3 to 4. I checked in the larger ADR first with no problem reducing to 5, but when I checked in the smaller group it would not let me increase to 4! I had to return to the podium when they called the first one, to make sure we were seated correctly.

Hmmm odd, especially since the CM told you to do it. Hopefully you didn't have any issues. I guess I'm not positive if it's supposed to be like that for every restaurant or just certain ones, but either way I would say there's a pretty good shot at upping your party by 1 at most Disney restaurants

We didn't do any mobile check-ins beside that one, because we had two ADRs for our large group everywhere except Homecomin'. Ultimately we didn't have issues and were seated as we wished, but I did have to interact with the CM at the podium inside Sci-Fi when they called the first group of 5.
