HI Everyone,

We are heading back to Port Orleans French Quarter in April. Could we bring our refillable mugs we got last May and use them? Its the Year of a Million Dreams mug. Thank you very much!

This is a touchy topic ;-) Your mug is only valid for the resort stay that you purchased it on. So the answer is NO. The resorts have also switched to the Let's Celebrate themed mugs so you would have to buy new ones. But this is not to say the people don't bring old mugs back, but that is against resort rules.

The mugs are valid during the stay when you purchased them. For your next visit you are supposed to buy a new mug.

Technically no - When you bought them there was a sign that stated for use during THAT stay. 2009 has brand new mugs which I admit are pretty fun looking.
Now there will be other posters that bought mugs years ago that were for life - different story
There will also be the mug police logging on soon that will blame you and other repeat mug users for bringing down our global economy so please do be prepared for the holier then now comments you will get.

But technically - those mugs were only for the stay you purchased them on and while Disney doesn't actively police this - If you believe in Karma - buy new ones.

Have fun!

DUCK, WILBER!!!!!!!!!!!!:duck:

:rotfl:

PS: they've changed over to the new mugs so the old mugs are a dead giveaway that your breaking the soda commandment.

When you bought the mugs last year, you were likely provided with information (either in the form of documentation, it being, printed on the mug, you being told, etc.) that they were good only for the length of your stay at the resort at which you purchased the mug. So, what do you think the answer is?

I wondered who would be the first to make the thread turn mean.

I LOVE the new design! Last year's were dull and looked like winter to me. Does anyone know if CSR has these? I heard they had different ones.

Technically,no.

Will you be put in the stocks at the MK and publically ridiculed? No.

Does anyone care but the self-appointed,self-righteous DMP(Dis Mug Police)? No.

So someone is new to the DIS and asks a perfectly legit question and you have to be nasty. Kudos to you. Run along now and be ever so proud of yourself.

The CSR has their own mug. Here is a picture of it:

I don't care to get into these debates and could frankly care less one way or the other, but do you really think that this was asked as "a perfectly legit question"? While I am sure that a new poster to these boards might have accidently stumbled onto a "hot button" topic, I am more inclined to think that it is more probable than not that this question was asked with malicious intent.

Hey, my thoughts.

TC.

I don't think that expecting people to follow the rules and not steal means you are "self-righteous". It means you are an honest person and not a thief.

OP--I am going to take your question at face value, and answer it as such. According to Disney refillable mugs are good only during the trip in which the mug was purchased. Do people bring mugs back and re-use them? Yes they do. Are they supposed to? No, they are not. Will you get cuffed and dragged away by the Disney police. No. The most they will do is tell you not to use your mug.
