I can't believe it, but after many trips to Disney over the years, this will be the last before she leaves for college in August. Dh and I are feeling bittersweet over this trip and looking at it as a last chance to experience taking our "baby" to Disney before she moves on to the next phase of her life. Any parents who have experienced something similar out there?

not yet, but I started to get sad on our trip this past April thinking about this same situation. Our oldest is finishing up his freshman year in HS. I know the next 3 years will fly by. He has gone every year since he was 10 months old, and still had a great time this year! He turned to us and said "what happens when I go to college?" he was concerned he won't have the same break as his younger brother!

HAVE A FABULOUS trip!!!!!! Maybe you could take trips when she is on break?

I know exactly what you mean... My son is going to College in August and this is a special trip for us! We went almost every year for many years and then after my Dad's cancer in 2011(that was the year that we had scheduled a Disney cruise but had to cancel) we did a road trip with my Dad and Mom in 2012 to Tennessee and New Orleans. But now we are going back to our first love "Disney World", just in time, before his big transition in his life.
I think it is harder on me then him... of course!!!

My mother has said this every trip we've had since I was 18... and clearly none of them have been the last. Mind you though I've not moved far away from home and she's also adopted my fiance into our summer trips. Hopefully this last trip isn't as final as you fear it is. It is a major milestone and it will be different, but hopefully OP is able to find that things won't have completely changed.

Our sad trip was 10-12-2010 dd turned 18 and it was last trip for her before moving on to college

It was all ok untill CRT dinner, waitress brought out glass slipper, we all started to sign happy birthday and it hit me silent tears rolling down my face.

Its bitter sweet, but i wouldn't have it any other way. I love child she was most of the time, i love the teenager (omg yes) she was and i love the adult that she has become..
