Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

Kathy- My heart goes out to you and your family. I am sorry for all of the losses and hardships you are experiencing.

Love and hugs to you!

Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Our prayers go out to you and your family.

Just seeing that little boys smile must have made it worth the ride. Personally I am so sick of all the Frozen hype. I loved the movie but enough already.

It sure did, Judy. I like Frozen a lot, but they have gone a bit overboard now.

Great updates!

Thanks, Sarah.

How can you not like It's a Small World? Going on it despite your dislike of the ride was very generous ... although it seems like Tim and his kids were trying to take you on every ride you didn't want to go on!

Just not a fan of it as we usually get stuck and that song drives me nuts. But I would do anything for those kids. Tim is a trouble maker.

I love the Elsa and Anna pictures!

Thank you.

Elsa seems to be laughing at something you guys said in this picture.

She was if I remember correctly. But I just didn't find her as friendly as the previous Elsa.

And I think it's hard not to have a long conversation with Anna ... she just talks and talks and talks.

She sure does. :rotfl:

I'm sorry you weren't impressed with Elsa - I hate when the characters aren't so great, especially the ones like Elsa that are harder to see.
I wish they were still meeting together - I heard they were great when they were together (I also heard that the interaction between the two was holding up the line).

I just couldn't put my finger on it. I guess our first one was just so good that this one didn't appeal to me. They were THE best together.

Your favorite ride!! :lmao: I am glad the kids liked it.

I'm glad you are all getting a kick out of me being on my favorite ride. ;) The kids adored it.

Philharmagic was closed when we were there too and I was not happy about it:sad: But at least you got out of the rain.

Neither were we...it's a favorite. But it will be open in May. :)

The last time we saw the sisters they were together, in a few weeks we will see then separated and I am not sure how it will go compared to last year, they were so fun together!

I much preferred them together.

Your pictures with Anna are great I can tell you had a good time with her! pixiedust:

She was a lot of fun.

I swear I responded to this update.... :surfweb:

You can't swear on the DIS, Timothy!

:rotfl2: Juliana is scratching her head saying 'Where is he going?'

She does appear to be thinking that.

Look at Christopher's face.... LOLOLOLOLOL

That boy of yours has lots of interesting looks.

It was sooooo hot. She loved feeling the cool from the water bottle.

She was having a ball.

Mark & I had a nice time just sitting around and talking for a few minutes while everyone was on the ride too. :goodvibes

I'm relly glad the two of you hit it off.

And somehow Mark & I rode together. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Yes, don't know how that happened again. :lmao:

Ooooh, oooooooh, oooooh, I know what it is!!!!! :boat:

Of course you do...it was YOUR idea.

Listen "Aunt' Kathy, don't act surprised that you ended up riding IASW with us. I TOLD you were going to a long time ago. :lmao:

Yes you had been telling me that since we knew we were overlapping.

Ready? This kid was born ready!

He sure has a lot of energy...but such a good boy.

Yea... something like that. :rotfl2:

Hush you!

My kids have always loved this ride.

He was just enthralled.

Hummm.... wonder why the long face. She loved it. You probably did something to her to make her look like this. :rotfl:

Oh sure, blame it on Aunt Kathy.

Off? Oh really? Ya think? :scratchin

So I underestimated it a bit....

Yea, we had to hang out here for a while. It was really coming down.

Coming down? I thought it was going to turn into a monsoon.

Once again, thank you so much for securing these FPs for us. :goodvibes

It was my pleasure.

Look! Gabby wasn't scared!

I think Grandma and I were trying to get her attention so she'd maybe smile.

This is a good shot!

Thanks, Tim.

This Elsa looks kinda scary to me.

I thought so too. It's the make-up and wig, I'm sure.

He was pulled to this M&G.... he probably just wanted to make the best of it. :rolleyes1

Oh yes, he was "pulled". And he ends up having more fun than most of us. He likes to complain sometimes for no reason at all.

Yea I wasn't all that impressed with Elsa. Anna was great. Maybe this was the Elsa from the first 90% of the movie, not the last 10%. :badpc:

Anna was great; you could be right about Elsa.

Kathy, so very sorry for your loss. Hope it helps to know in your heart that she is no longer suffering and has found some peace.
Indeed, you have had a very rough year. Hope your brother is improving each day. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers and wish you better times ahead.

I have finally caught up on your trip report. I cannot believe how far behind I had fallen. You have moved resorts, had a couple of character meals, saw some great shows, and had a few awesome DisMeets since I last commented. And through it all, it seems you are having such a great time.

Tim's kids are adorable. The things we will do for the kids! :rotfl: The last time I did SM, I determined it would be the LAST time. Only in DL is that ride worth riding any longer. It is just too jerky in WDW. I know you secretly LOVE IASW.;)

The meet and greets all look like such wonderful fun. And thanks to Mark for all the fun hat photo ops! Love the addition of your little video spots, too. And you are making wonderful use of your MM Photo Pass!! :thumbsup2

Did you enjoy the Boardwalk? That is one of my "need to try" resorts yet. Was hoping to try it next fall, but looks like my moms only is not going to happen. I may have to wait until my 50th birthday to return. Hoping to get a couple of days at DL/CA this spring when we head west to visit friends in Reno.

Again, sending you  and hoping things get better.

All right, I'm going to get caught up on updates since I was in Florida. First and foremost though, I'm going to say again I'm so sorry about your Mom.

I am so glad that you finally had the opportunity to meet up with Tim and his family. Some meets feel like they're a long time coming, right?

I ate most of those cupcakes in that case at Starring Rolls. :lmao: And I'm proud of it!

Yay for meeting Wendy and Johnny too!

Hahahaha. That Sports Center shirt is amazing. That is also my ring tone on my phone. :rotfl2:

Olaf hat and holding Sven!? Perfection.

I vote for Mark getting that Sweetums hat. :lmao:

The two storytellers for the Frozen sing along are the ENTIRE reason to go. They are just hysterical.

For real, the scary clown pool is no good at the Boardwalk. Other than that, I love the resort!

I knew you were going to Crystal Palace. I would have been worried if you didn't. :lmao:

I'm thinking you regretted making that bet with Julianna at some point. :rotfl2:

Something tells me you'll end up on Space Mountain at some point again in the future. Some DIS kid will sweet talk you, and you're too nice to say no. :rotfl:

It's a Small World has some merits. You know, when you want to sit there and do nothing in the cool or warm indoors depending on the season. ;)

He really did have a long conversation with Anna. I'm guessing he was working his charm on her.

I am so behind (I'm sorry, Miss Kathy!). I'm in the midst of catching up!

Laura, no worries. I am going to be SOOOOOOOOOO far behind again. I may just start at everyone's "next" update.

What we do to experience the fresh joy through a child's eyes eh? :rotfl: Slow boat to china indeed!

Yes, we will do anything for the littles.

Bummer about Elsa. Maybe she was new or something? I will say that there seemed to be something off about her makeup in these pictures. Didn''t look as well done as I have seen in many other pics.

Yes, she just doesn't look right.

Almost every parent to adult children I know hates Small World. My mama would rather ride anything else all day than ride Small World even once! It's a tradition to me so I ride it every time. I do really hate the song though, mostly cause once you hear it, think of it, see anything relating to it, it's in your head for days! Christopher's adorable little grin must've made it some what bearable though; all those kids are adorable. Anna and Elsa! I want to go to Fairy Tale Hall just to see the inside, the theming looks to grandiose. Funny you should say Elsa seemed bored; I've read that on here before. Maybe that's just the type of person Elsa really is  SDMT :yay: can't wait to see how that goes with the kiddos!

I'm with your mama! I do it once to please my hubby. Christopher is a true sweetie. The inside of Fairy Tale Hall is beautiful.

I'm sorry, but that Elsa looks like they picked her up at a local bar as a fill-in. :lmao: Her dress is even crooked! I can't believe people stay up all night to get a fast pass to meet them. But, I will be doing the same for my Boss's daughter in Feb, so I guess the joke's on me! :rotfl:

Oooh...she does, doesn't she? Her dress is crooked. Yes, I am sure you will, and for your grandchildren on your next trip.

Have you seen the FB version of the Anna and Elsa and Olaf they had at a Walmart? OMG! :lmao::lmao:

No I missed it.

You did end up on IASW. :goodvibes Somehow I knew you would take one for the team. I love how Christopher is enjoying it so much!

How could I say no to those cuties?

The PP pictures are adorable! The kids are just so darn cute and the family pics are amazing!

Thanks, MEK.

But that Elsa is a little odd looking. Her features are a little harsh. Maybe she had a bad makeup day! :rotfl2:

Definitely a bad make-up day.

Thanks for sharing those pictures. I am certain, unless I ever have a granddaughter, I will not be getting a FP for Anna & Elsa. I think that just leaves more room for all the mega fans!

I definitely wouldn't get them for just Mark and I, but it was fun going with the kids.

Kathy, once again I have been lurking but so far behind in keeping up. All caught up now. ;)

Bob, I am so far behind again myself.

You had to do it, once again reading one of your trip reports we are taken back to your adventures on, "It's a Small World." Ugghhh, I will once again hear that song ringing in my ears all day long. Thank you my friend. :lmao:

I'm truly sorry friend.

I would have to admit I would have the same feelings as Mark did in meeting Elsa & Anna. I know it's the "thing" right now in Disney, but I'm starting to get sensory overload to Frozen.

He just likes to complain; he loved seeing the kids reaction.

As for Mark having a long conversation with Anna, "building a snowman." Sure that's what they want you to believe. LOL. I guess your OK as long as Mark didn't get a phone number from her. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey...whatever floats his boat.

As for Elsa, I have to agree with you, from those pictures she looked like she would rather be anywhere but right there. You could say she was looking a little "FROZEN." Ok, I know, bad joke. :rotfl:

Really bad joke, Bob.

What a fun update! Personally, I like IASW. It is just so colorful and makes me smile. And that look of utter awe on Christopher's face during the ride, says it all.

Thanks, Chris. It was worth it for that look on Christopher's face.

And that Elsa, oh boy. She was scary. Her dress was too big or something because it didn't fit right. And she just looked off. But Anna, how cute was she. And you got some really good pictures with her.

She was just off as you said. Anna was a sweetheart.

That big grin on Christopher's face surely made up for the torture of riding IASW! :thumbsup2

It sure did, Ariana.

Very cute pictures with Anna and Elsa. And I'm not fooled for a minute. Mark didn't want to meet them? Yeah right. :rolleyes2

The man can play very coy when he wants.

The Things awe do for kids huh? All i think of when i see IASW is: I'm coming to get you Barbra

I really worry I'll be stuck on it for an hour. :(

Like you said, cannot say NO to the adorable faces! :thumbsup2 they do look happy to be there!!!

It just wasn't going to happen.

What's up with Elsa's eyebrows??? :confused3

What was up with the WHOLE Elsa?

I agree Anna is really a great meet.. I do like her better then the queen herself. we both have a thing for Chocolate too..

Chocolate. I snuck into my Christmas Fannie May candy today because I was craving chocolate tonight.

I had a feeling that's where he was going to take you! Good job, Tim!!! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Oh sure...stick up for Tim now.

I'm sorry Elsa was a disappointment. I hope I can eventually get an FP+ so I can actually go in when the kids meet them. :headache:

I hope you get one too so you can join the rest of the family.

Everyone hates IASW but I like it. No idea why I like it because I kick myself for going on when the song gets stuck in my head, but 90% of the time when I go to WDW it's closed.

Perhaps that is why; you don't do it as often as the rest of us. ;)

I love the meet pictures with Anna and Elsa. Although Elsa's eyebrows are freaky! This is one FP I am going to try to get for sure! princess:

I hope you get it...I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

I was behind, but caught up again!

Steph, I am officially way behind again. :(

You guys had a great DIS meet! I'm sure seeing the kids so excited made it worth it to ride the slow boat to China! :lmao:

We did...with still more fun to come.

The first thing I thought of when I saw that Elsa is that she looks kinda like Anne Hathaway :rotfl: Sorry she wasn't up to par, but Anna sure seemed talkative and you guys got some great pictures of all of you! I also enjoyed seeing them together when I was there in May, and am bummed they separated them.

Thanks; we really enjoyed Anna. I'm bummed they separated them too.

Congrats on surviving It's a Small World! I think I give the ride a break just due to the historical context in that if there wasn't an It's a Small World there may never have been a Disneyland or Disney World. Plus the kids seem to love it ... but I can understand it driving people nuts

Oh you had to go and put it that way; now I feel guilty.

Sorry your A&E meet wasn't better - looks like they were entertained by Mark though! :thumbsup2

Mark has a way with the girls.

:woohoo: Shout out!

I never forget my DIS friends. :)

Honestly, friends don't force friends onto IASW. :rotfl:

That's what I said.

ZZZZZZzzzzzzz...:faint:

Sorry, I'm just conditioned to react a certain way when I see this.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:I hear you Mark.

I'm worried about this kid.

He'll outgrow it... I hope.

That's more like it! :rotfl2::rotfl:

I knew I liked that sweetie the minute I met her.

:rolleyes1

Yeah, just like he doesn't like to try on hats.

In Florida?

Hey, anything is possible.

Catching up on a few posts-

You did the opposite from me on my recent trip. I rode Small World then Peter Pan.

Let it Go!

What's up with Elsa's eyebrows??? :confused3

I love the meet pictures with Anna and Elsa. Although Elsa's eyebrows are freaky! This is one FP I am going to try to get for sure! princess:

That was my thought, too. The eyebrows are off!

:worried:

The photos of Christopher mesmerized during It's a Small world are really cute. I also like your comment of Gabby looking like you do on the ride - too funny.

Thanks Sarah.

Anna was a lot of fun.

Playing catch up again, Kathy!

We did that morning...it worked out really great.

Yes, those faces made up for it for sure.

I hope you had a good trip. I LOVE MK first thing in the morning.

That Elsa doesn't look impressive to me at all. I feel like the hair and makeup could have been done a lot better. And it's too bad that it wasn't a great interaction either.

Yes, it was just a bad Elsa.

Again sorry I am so behind in your TR, but it sure looks like you had a great 2 days with your Dismeets, especially at Magic Kingdom spending lots of time with Tim and his family.

We had a blast with Tim and his family, and thoroughly enjoyed meeting Wendy and Johnny and getting a bit of time with them too.

Boardwalk sure looks like a nice resort. We may have to rent points next time we go.

We love it there, and I am so glad I'm staying there again in May.

Sorry for all the awful things that you and your family have had to endure this year. Please know we are all here for you. Hope things get better for you soon, you deserve the best. Again Prayers and Hugs to you and your family!

It's been a rough one. But as I said to several people at the wedding we went to on Saturday night, one life has ended, but a new life has begun as a married couple.

Thank you, John.

Kathy, so very sorry for your loss. Hope it helps to know in your heart that she is no longer suffering and has found some peace.

It does help as I know how much pain she was in.

Indeed, you have had a very rough year. Hope your brother is improving each day. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers and wish you better times ahead.

My brother has his own set of issues and it will be difficult with him being on his own now.

I have finally caught up on your trip report. I cannot believe how far behind I had fallen. You have moved resorts, had a couple of character meals, saw some great shows, and had a few awesome DisMeets since I last commented. And through it all, it seems you are having such a great time.

We really did; it was one of our best trips.

Tim's kids are adorable. The things we will do for the kids! :rotfl: The last time I did SM, I determined it would be the LAST time. Only in DL is that ride worth riding any longer. It is just too jerky in WDW. I know you secretly LOVE IASW.;)

Yes, it's amazing what these kids can get us to do.

The meet and greets all look like such wonderful fun. And thanks to Mark for all the fun hat photo ops! Love the addition of your little video spots, too. And you are making wonderful use of your MM Photo Pass!! :thumbsup2

We had a lot of fun with our DIS friends. Aren't the videos a great addition?

Did you enjoy the Boardwalk? That is one of my "need to try" resorts yet. Was hoping to try it next fall, but looks like my moms only is not going to happen. I may have to wait until my 50th birthday to return. Hoping to get a couple of days at DL/CA this spring when we head west to visit friends in Reno.

We really love the Boardwalk. It has moved up to third on my favorites, and I'll be back there in May. I'm sorry your girls only is not going to work out. :(

Again, sending you  and hoping things get better.

Thanks, Linda, I appreciate it.

All right, I'm going to get caught up on updates since I was in Florida. First and foremost though, I'm going to say again I'm so sorry about your Mom.

Thanks again my dear friend.

I am so glad that you finally had the opportunity to meet up with Tim and his family. Some meets feel like they're a long time coming, right?

They sure do; and it was worth the wait.

I ate most of those cupcakes in that case at Starring Rolls. :lmao: And I'm proud of it!

As you should be!

Yay for meeting Wendy and Johnny too!

What a wonderful, young couple.

Hahahaha. That Sports Center shirt is amazing. That is also my ring tone on my phone. :rotfl2:

What is it with that show?

Olaf hat and holding Sven!? Perfection.

He has a way about him. ;)

I vote for Mark getting that Sweetums hat. :lmao:

One of these days we are going to buy him one of his silly hats.

The two storytellers for the Frozen sing along are the ENTIRE reason to go. They are just hysterical.

I couldn't agree more.

For real, the scary clown pool is no good at the Boardwalk. Other than that, I love the resort!

Quiet pool or NO pool at the Boardwalk. I'm with you...other than that, love the resort.

I knew you were going to Crystal Palace. I would have been worried if you didn't. :lmao:

I'm sure you would have.

I'm thinking you regretted making that bet with Julianna at some point. :rotfl2
:

I regretted it the minute I stepped on it.

Something tells me you'll end up on Space Mountain at some point again in the future. Some DIS kid will sweet talk you, and you're too nice to say no. :rotfl:

I probably will. I don't know if it because I'm nice or just too dumb to say no.

It's a Small World has some merits. You know, when you want to sit there and do nothing in the cool or warm indoors depending on the season. ;)

I can't even give it that.

He really did have a long conversation with Anna. I'm guessing he was working his charm on her.

He and Popadon would have line waits at six hours if those two were trying to charm the Princesses together.

Catching up on a few posts-

Heart Failure

Tell me... I now how it is.

Those are adorable pictures with Stitch!!!

The little blue thing is growing on me (don't tell Marv!).

Good to know that you don’t back out on your bets. Why, oh, why couldn’t the bet have been to ride IASW??? OH. Never Mind!

Ha ha ha...why oh why couldn't it have been Pooh or something I like. :lmao::lmao:

I love everyone’s expressions on Buzz.

We all did great with the pictures on that one.

That is my favorite photo spot- behind the bars with Zurg (Bad Cow). I have one or two of my kids here, but I wish I had that every year. But we had a loooonnnngggg period of time where the boys just weren’t cooperating with pictures.

Don't you hate when the kids won't cooperate with the pictures.

Character/Rides

You did the opposite from me on my recent trip. I rode Small World then Peter Pan.

I would have not ridden SW at all as you know if it weren't for three smiling faces.

Let it Go!

That was my thought, too. The eyebrows are off!

:worried:

Yes, as was the make-up, dress, etc.

Kathy, so so so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Sending some prayers and comfort to you and your family. XOXO

Thank you very much.

Thank you all for the continued support and love. It has truly helped these last couple of days. Although we knew mom was dying, it came on a lot faster than we thought it would.

We did go to a wedding Saturday night. We actually had two that day, but had gotten the call about Mom just as we were walking out the door to go to the first one. The mother of the groom asked why we were there and I told her that one life ended, but a new life as a married couple was starting and mom would have wanted us to celebrate with Markie's friend.

The kids came in for the wedding and ended up staying an extra day (they didn't go home until 6:30 this a.m.) due to some bad weather we had yesterday. Alisha helped me decorate my Christmas tree yesterday and Markie helped me with my Christmas cookies on Sunday. They will be back on Friday until Sunday.

I made all the preparations today. There is no service at mom's request. With my brothers' approval, we listed both at my work and in the obituary that donations could be made to Mira's college fund at Cocktails and Chemo. Mom followed Joe's story with me and was so touched by his wife and daughter that I knew this would make her happy. Amanda was so touched when I told her.

This is the only picture I could find of my mom and I (she hated having her picture taken). This was taken on our wedding day, obviously:

And this is the last one I have of her with all of her grandchildren (I'm thinking 2009 or 2010). Unfortunately she never got to meet her one and only great grandchild:

Mark and I are off to do a little Christmas shopping and I hope to get an update done before the weekend ends. And for all of you who have TR's that I am behind on, I promise to get to them as soon as I can.

Oh Kathy! I don't know how I ended up missing the posts about your mom passing. Sorry to hear it but glad to hear that she is no longer in pain. Quite an appropriate way to celebrate the memory of her by celebrating new lives beginning.

I hope you can enjoy a nice Thanksgiving with all of your family together after all the hardships you have been facing this year.

Stay Strong!

Kathy, I"m so sorry again about your mom. The pictures are really nice.

What a wonderful thing to have donations made to Cocktails and Chemo.

As for your report, IASW. Your pictures made me want to stab my eyes out with a fork. :lmao:

Oh Anna and Elsa, the meet and greet of all meet and greets. We met that same Elsa and I also thought she was pretty blah, but my kids loved her, so that's what matters.

You and Mark HAVE to see the Disney exhibit at MSI. We went Sunday and it was great!

Kathy, I feel bad even posting about the last update since it's so inconsequential really when real life happens. But I guess talking about the fantasy of Disney is always a helpful thing, especially in times like these. Please know that it is no way intended to diminish the sadness you must be feeling but also the joy in celebrating your mom's life. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photos and may you find peace with your loved ones around you as you go through this together. :grouphug:

I have to admit it Kathy. As much as I proudly wander the "World" avoiding Small World at all costs, in the situation you were in, yeah, I probably would do the exact same thing and board that little ship of horrors. But OH THE HUMANITY!! So glad you survived!!

Ugh, yes, so sad that Philharmagic was down. The area did provide a pretty good "hide from the rain" spot though.

Awww Anna and Elsa. I really started to appreciate Anna at the Frozen Sing-A-Long show. She was just so adorable. But the meet and greet really brought it home. I think she is now #2 on my Princess list behind Ariel. So now 2 redheads in the top spots and once I meet Merida, maybe a third. That should help with my Mayoral campaign.
