last to post
they wanted to know about every person in your house,
name/age/sex,etc
whether you owned/rented/etc
who your vet was
when was the last time your other animal went to the vet
how much you spent on your other animals last year
if they could do a house visit
and tons and tons of stuff.
dh finally said.. forget it! It was like getting a mortgage or something!
ok fine, when that time comes, we'll just make a special Kathy's last to post thread.. just for you!![]()
for some reason I think the post office will frown upon that.
oh poor thing!!That's the one thing I don't like about shelters.
We went through all of that with Shadow. It's like they're testing you to make sure you're fit to be an animal-parent! They make you feel like you're not worthy of having a pet. Sad thing about Shadow, though, is the fact that after we adopted him we realized (and the vet confirmed) that he had been beaten. And what makes that even sadder is the fact that he had been born in the shelter and that's the only place he had ever lived so that's where he was beaten. (The shelter has since closed!) Shadow's been with us for almost five years now and no one here has ever raised a hand to him. Yet, if you raise your voice (for any reason) he crouches down and slithers off with his tail between his legs, half the time piddling on the floor as he goes along. And he's the best furry-human, he NEVER does anything wrong! (And yes, I'm serious about that!)
DH let our chickens out of their pens to roam for the day. I'm sitting at the kitchen table, eating a bagel and dissing, and I hear the rooster crow. I thought to myself that he sounded pretty close. Then I felt like I'm being watched. So I turned around and there's the rooster - sitting on the railing of the deck staring at me.![]()
So, I decided to take some bread out to feed the chickens. BAD IDEA! I broke up some bread and threw some over the railing of the deck to the chickens....not thinking that whenever we have anything that we throw out to the cats that's where we throw it. Suddenly, I've got 17 cats trying to move around about 10 chickens to get to the bread. And then the other chickens noticed the commotion and then they came running. So, about 30 chickens and 17 cats are now staring at me for more!![]()

Bo, is a shelter dog, I got him when he was weeks old. but we ended up moving to a house where we couldn't have two dogs, so we asked MIL/FIL to take him. well he became an outside dog, and when we got him back he was afraid to come in the house...and if we raised our voice he would piddle.. he's gotten over all that now, and is king of the couch! he is the best doggie too!
I should have taken a picture!
well we are finally getting warm enough for stuff to melt.. so dh and I are going to have to get up on the roof and try to clean out the gutters.
they are frozen solid and the overflow was leaking into the window panes inside the house!!!
