Her daughter is only 7-it will be really hard for her and mine are teenagers so they have a better concept of what is going on-her daughter doesn't and it's been a rough 2 yrs already

Is her school counselor aware of what's going on? It may be good for her to spend some time talking about it. Just a thought. I just finished a grief group for some kids at my school and they really seemed to benefit from it.

I know I'm going to get a lot of grief this week....as bad as hours are I hired a part-time bookkeeper yesterday. And we almost never hire anyone in as a bookkeeper - we promote cashiers.

And not only will I be taking grief for hiring someone - I hired my best friend!

She actually worked there when I started and she worked there for about 12 years, up until 2004. So she is completely trained. She only wants a few hours. Her DH is a contractor and just doesn't have any work so she just wants to make a little extra while he's not working. Boss was all for the idea because he really likes her and he knows she'll do a great job!

Me too! I only have until 3 until I need to get ready for work so I really should be getting some stuff done around the house---but it's fun here when there are so many people on!

Yep-They know all about the process cancer takes since I try to keep them informed about the changes they see in her whenever we get the chance to see her-so I think they're aware

DH is too-it's just not going to be easy as it never is especially when someone is so young or older-always hard to say goodbye

It's always so hard! Even when it's expected it still comes as such a shock - you can never really competely prepare for it.

ok, I just caught up and we're headed out again.

taking the kids to the pet store to look at fish, get gas, request some days off of work (which I forgot to do while I was at work this am.

tons of errands to do!

Don't get a beta fish! I got one last Saturday and he looks like he's ready to die like the others did. I think the water's too cold.

It is difficult. How old are the kids? My mom passed away when I was 13 from cancer. I've been there.

I've been there too! My dad passed away from cancer when I was 14.
