I know princess::upsidedow has the advantage in that you're up all our night, but there's a long way to go. By the time y'all are on the trip you're planning we'll probably on LTP 11! and while you're all gone, I'll have the advantage! Ness, don't you want to join them all in October?

Ness has probably gone to sleep.

LTP 11? I think we may well be on 12; now that you're here. :rotfl2:

:surfweb:

Waiting for my paycheck to appear in my bank account, so I can book my October trip... :teeth:

Cool....Alison's on line. Let's try to be polite and at least appear to be playing the game with her....:rolleyes1

We can hijack this thread when you're at work and it's just you and me between 3 am and 7 am, your time. :rotfl:

So then...let me amuse you ladies with "ME" (Don't you just love how I can turn things so that attention is back to me?? :cool2:).

I've been playing on the photography board. Wanna see some pictures of my hometown?

I know, was just making a comment :goodvibes

Well, I'm usually cleaning during at least part of that time... :rotfl:

This is a picture of the Royal Exhibition Building. It was built in the late 1800's and is used today for exhibitions/shows. I used to sit my exams in this building when I was at Uni...and have very fond memories of going to a Chocolate Ball. Its gardens and grounds (and the building) are used in Mar/Apr for the Flower and Garden show...like the Chelsea F&G (not the Epcot kind).

This is our Victorian Parliament Building. Our state politicians govern/pass legislation out of this Building...(the real work is conducted in the buildings behind the PB).
We have streetcars/trams as part of our public transport system in Melbourne.

South of the Parliament Building is the Treasury Building. This is the back and side view of the Treasury. I think you can rent a hall in the Treasury Building for functions; I seem to recall seeing a few wedding celebrations out of here.

I took these pictures on Thursday, and the temperature is about 53 F. We might be at the end of the world, but we're not stupid....much too cold to be outside having lunch!

Those are pretty pictures! :) I don't have any of Chicago, but I could probably take some next week if you want to see here :)

This fountain is hiding the Windsor Hotel. Its one of those old heritage hotels and it still maintains the old worldliness charm. They hold the old fashioned Afternoon High Teas complete with Two-step dancing; and in winter, the Teas become Chocolate themed.

Here's one of another Hotel...up the other end of town. This is the Rialto; and there is a landmark tall building behind the Rialto - called (funnily enough) the Rialto Towers. I worked in the Rialto Towers for over 5 years.

The hotel is pretty amazing. Inside, it's U shaped and the rooms and the public areas are around an empty 'pit'. At the bottom of the U/pit, there is an old cobblestone laneway. The laneway and the building is heritage listed; so it can never be ripped up.
