Hello!

I'm off work today - which is a good thing because I think I've got gout starting again! My foot is all swollen and hurts like @*#$@!!!!

My SIL is still fighting, Cancer really does suck! We just keep praying-but her weight loss is not a good sign

She is constantly in my prayers Kim!

I feel so terrible complaining about gout when there are so many people going through so much worse!

Thanks for the prayers-she had a Good Christmas, and has even started back to work-they really need the $$ since she was the main bread maker

-and now she's even thinking about going back to school for her Bachelor Degree-I think she shouldn't worry about tha,t and just work as long as she can -but she's trying to go on with her life and not let the cancer thing change it any more than it already has


Kathy- I hope your foot feels better soon-my FIL get gout all the time-and it is pretty painful-so I'll pray it gets better fast for you-and Hey, pain is pain gout or cancer, it still hurts! Lets pray this is over and done with for you sooner than later

I stayed off of it somewhat today. I did tons of laundry, though. Down to the basement, up to the family room to fold it and then upstairs to put it away. But I just did it nice and slow. At least I feel like I accomplished a little even though I wasn't feeling that well.

I started on medicine this morning and it is feeling a little better already. If I can get on medicine as soon as I know it's starting then it doesn't get too, too bad and it doesn't last as long.

Really nothing like doing ANYTHING in 5 degree weather!

It was -2 when I took the boys to school this morning. Not figuring in any wind chill!!! That is a "near decade low" morning temperature for us here!

Sounds like she has a VERY positive attitude. Good for her!

It is very painful - and the longer an attack lasts the more painful it usually gets. The last couple of times I've had it I've been lucky to be able to get on the medication quickly and it hasn't gotten too bad. I do take medicine twice a day to prevent gout - but one of the side effects of that medicine is kidney stones, which we all know I'm prone to anyway so I have to take another medication once a day to prevent the kidney stones that may be caused by the medication preventing gout! But obviously, the one medication isn't doing such a great job of preventing gout since this is the third or fourth time I've had gout in the past year!
