Is anyone getting in the holiday spirit??
Well then, bring your leftover vanilla ice cream over here and I'll share our leftover apple cobbler with you!![]()
Actually - I bought some vanilla ice cream yesterday for our leftovers....but you're still welcome to share!
We're supposed to go get our tree today. But I'm not sure if we will...
DH decided to start a project yesterday. He's re-doing the walls in the living room with this tongue-n-groove stuff. It's making the walls look like the inside of a log cabin. It looks nice - but why he had to wait until the holidays to start I'll never know. He doesn't have a very good track record for starting and finishing a project in a reasonable amount of time. But he promised he would get it finished up quickly this time. I guess we'll see. Matthew worked with him all day yesterday - learned how to use the table saw and the air nail gun. He'll be able to really say he helped out a lot with the living room project!
I had to work yesterday. We were dead! Grocery is a lot different than other retail - and we knew we would be dead. All we had were a few regulars that ALWAYS do their shopping on Fridays - no matter what! And the occassional customer that came in for one thing or another. I got a lot of my office work done that's been piling up.

I had planned Thanksgiving Part 2 for our dinner last night. But when I got home I found that DH and the boys had already had Thanksgiving Part 2 and Part 3! (Lunch and snack!) So, we opted for super nachos for dinner!
DD called me at work yesterday.![]()
Her and her DH had taken their dog to the dog park. They'd been gone about an hour when her cell phone rang. It was her boss at work. He told her that the police had called work looking for her. She thought he was joking. He said he wasn't, that the police called there asking if they knew how to reach her, something was wrong at her apartment and they gave her boss a number for him to give to her. So she called the number. While she was talking to an officer her DH's cell phone rang and it was the police dispatcher. She told him basically the same thing - something was wrong at their apartment and he needed to return home immediately.
They went home and found that someone had broken into their apartment! The guy had kicked in the front door, broke the door and the door frame!
A neighbor heard the noise when the door was kicked in and went to look. He saw the guy in the apartment and he went back to his own apartment and called 911.
The neighbor was able to identify the suspect as someone who lives in the same complex. He's only 15.
They lost about $800 - $900 worth of stuff and naturally they don't have renters insurance. It could have been a lot more though. There was stuff stacked at the door like he was making a pile to take with him. The police think that hearing the neighbor may have startled the thief so he didn't take all that he had wanted to. He did get two VERY expensive paintball guns that her DH had displayed on the living room wall. And some cash, and some games and a controller for Xbox. But the Xbox system and a wireless controller were two of the things stacked by the door that he didn't get!!
