Kathy have a Great Day I know she said she didn't want to talk about her day until it was over-she didn't want to jinx it-so I'm waiting for a nice update ince they get back

Okay - our day yesterday was fantastic...and nothing was jinxed (we hadn't told anyone about our plans because we didn't want anything to jinx the day)...everything went perfect - as we had planned it!

So, I'm ready to share....

.............We left here at 7:45 a.m. Yes, that's even after my 14 hour long day the day before and not getting to bed until 2 a.m. But as Kim says - sleep is so over-rated - and I'm really starting to believe it.

We took two vehicles, more on that reason later. And we headed out for a bit of a shopping trip at Bass Pro Shop. Mind you - Bass Pro Shop is in Sevierville, TN which is almost 3 hours from here!

...We did our shopping at Bass Pro! Ouch! We also got ourselves a Bass Pro credit card (also part of the plan ) which got us 10% off our shopping yesterday. Big help!

......After Bass Pro we headed to Wendy's for lunch.

....after lunch we got back on the Interstate and headed to Cherokee Lake, which is about a half an hour from Bass Pro - heading back our way.

....By now the family excitement was really high! DH and Andrew were in the truck and Matthew, A.J. and I were in the van. DH and I were constantly back and forth with each other on our cells phones and Andrew and Matthew were back and forth on theirs!

Pretty bad - 4 cells phones between us! What in the world did we all do before cells phones? My boys have probably never even used a pay phone! Oops, got a little off subject there.

......About 20 miles north of the Interstate and we were finally at the lake and at the marina.....

.....not just any marina but the marina where.....

....WE TOOK DELIVERY OF OUR NEW BOAT!!!

We are all so excited about this!!

DH and I have been looking since our anniversary trip to Gatlinburg in April. We decided then that we wanted to get one but the past three months have been a roller coaster....

oh boy, let's get a boat....

no, we really can't afford it....

yes, the budget works out and we can do this....

no, this is a dumb thing to do with the economy the way it is....

but now is really the time with the boys the age that they are....

people are going to think we're crazy to do this with the economy so uncertain....

hey, people have always thought we're crazy and we've never cared before...

explaining to the boys that if we did this it would be at least two years before another Disney trip! And the boys were fine with that.

And in the past three months we've made trips all over looking at different boats until we finally found one in Hickory NC that DH and I both liked - with no compromises!

The only thing that kept us from purchasing that one was the color. But at least we now knew what we wanted.

And then we found out that they're not very easy to find!

I found one on the internet at a marina in Bean Station, TN on Lake Cherokee. That's when we decided to make a short vacation trip to Gatlinburg with a side trip to see the boat. We made these plans about 2 weeks in advance and waited. The marina didn't have a picture of the boat, just the description.

Well, while we were waiting we did some more discussing. - Do all couples do this - we ponder on everything! Anyway, we decided that now was not the time to get a boat. So, we went on our Gatlinburg trip anyway.

On the way over to Gatlinburg DH and I started talking - again. I thought we should go take a look at it anyway - there were two ways to look at this since we hadn't seen a picture of it. If we saw it we would be able to say, no this isn't what we wanted so we made the right decision. Or we would be able to say, wow, this is it. Now what do we do!

So we went to look at it - and it ended up being choice #2 - WOW, this is it! It was exactly what we were looking for.

And since we had waited until later in the season - or actually almost the end of the season - we got a fantastic deal on it. (Well, that and the fact that the economy is so topsy-turvy right now that only idiots are buying boats and they're not selling many! )

Boy, am I rambling! I'm sorry! I hope you don't mind! But I am just soooooo excited! And the fact that we haven't told anyone - it's been this huge secret that I can finally tell! And you guys are all my friends so I couldn't wait to share!!!
