I have done my fair share already. I drive every field trip for school and G.S. I will just put some music on the ipod and read a book. That should block out all the noise.
I found out yesterday we have a meeting after school for all the Health Aides on Monday. I figured it's when they're going to officially tell me that my job is being cut back next year (our nurse told me unofficially last month). It was weird b/c the email came from our Union President, not the Human Resources????
So I was questioning it... why is it after school? Are we going to get paid for it??
The Union president was in our building today so I was asking her about it and she was stressing how important it is that all the HA are there. That is it after school b/c it is not school related, but to plan on being there for awhile.
So it ends up that the meeting is about the union fighting the district on cutting back HA hours! That's a good thing for me since I am only 1 of 3 HA who have 30 hours.
I wish we had more notice, B has a Dr. apt at 4pm that I now have to try to reschedule, and I have to find a babysitter for Monday also.
Sounds like a pretty big deal Liz! Hope it works out for the best for you!
It's hard for me to imaging Health Aides in the school and such. Our county has two full-time nurses that cover the high school and 8 elementary schools! And no health aides at all.
