Here today....catching up on the Boards....then back at LAST.

First week in October 2013 is firming up as a possibility for a Gamers DisMeet. Alison - I'm hoping that this date is better for you and Fran. I'm supposed to start a new thread on the gamers board to see if anyone else wants in....but I won't do so until you advise if this week is okay or not.

It's winter school holidays here and we didn't stick with our normal pattern for a fish & chip take-away dinner. We also didn't have any of DS' normal Friday night activities to worry about either.

So we had a free night and instead of staying home, we headed to the western end of the city....Docklands.

Talking about wombats, we found animals at Docklands last night.

We also looked around the shops and found a restaurant to have dinner.


DH had the vegetarian hokkien noodles.

I opted for the calamari and chips.

DH had fish and chips - but he destroyed it before I even got the camera out!
Aside for the hokkien noodles, it sure reminded me of the dinner we share with Usnuz in Monterey!


We decided that we needed to gain a couple more pounds (that we don't need) and ordered 2 desserts to share.


This was supposed to be Apple Strudel.

It was tasty but definitely not the strudel dish I was expecting. I would have called this more a turnover than anything else.


The Berry Crepe was delicious!

The Docklands precinct of town is somewhere that is fairly souless. It was built about 10 years ago and has never quite hit the right mark with the Melbournians. There are plans to renovate the area and try to rejuvenate it so that more people come to visit.

In the meantime, this area tries to organise events so that more people come down.

July - is a time for fireworks on Friday nights.

Other than that we like to be in DLR for the first weekend of October, this still could work out. It would give me an excuse to get back for another F&W Festival in two years. We haven't actually been to a full weekend of Gay Days in CA, we've been a couple single days, but this year will be the first time that we actually stay over, so there isn't actually any big history of us being at DLR the first weekend of October.

The weather is certainly better than the end of June, beginning of July! Send the link to the thread and I'll join in. Does this mean I have to start playing the other games again? I'm not sure I have time with all my other threads!

We might do more of an end of September into the first week, but who knows! Right now our only plans are through December 2012, so this is good, now I have a two year plus plan.

So I posted on the thread....anyone potentially interested in renting points for this trip? Our plan for the spring of 2013 was to go to Japan....don't know how feasible that is, but two years from now they should be recovered (we hope). By renting our points we can pay cash for rooms in Japan. Just puttin it out there.

yea just got off work!! My cousin is playing pro soccer in Australia right now so my dad follows his games. His one today just ended at 3 in the morning here!
