The kitty is in a better place at the rainbow bridge. The test results came back the following day and his kidney readings were off the charts. They were higher than any other cat we had with renal failure so we let him go.

He is the almost all gray cat in the foreground of the photo. This was earlier in the year, his health declined quite quickly.

Thanks...but in the end he is better off, he was so miserable when we got home from the trip. We have lost a bunch in the last couple years. When I moved in almost 15 years ago, Fran had a whole lot of full grown kitties. I had two, we've lost quite a few over the years. At one point we had 17 cats. Now we're down to six plus one that doesn't come inside any more. In fact I just realized I haven't seen her since we got back from WDW. Plus one of the six hasn't come inside since we came back.

We have another that isn't ours, but we give him the leftover wet cat food and he spends more time here than at his own house! I'm thinking that we need another cat or two after all the ones we've lost, but Fran is actually saying no. That is a cause for alarm. Normally she is telling me we need more cats!

I asked her, and you know about our crazy switching apartments deal, one night we stay with all the ones you saw on her (plus two potentially) and the next night we stay with Olga (who can't live in a multi cat household).

Well if you noticed the little cat in the above pictures, that is Sunny or as we refer to her "our little terrorist". She's got a brain disorder that causes her to walk funny, and she doesn't know there is anything wrong with her. As far as she is concerned she is queen of the house and she lashes out and swats at anyone who get in her path.

The two "white things" as we call them (one seen above) sometimes run and sometimes fight back, but Fran doesn't want to bring a new cat into the house while we rotate back and forth because with Sunny's crankiness, she wouldn't want the new cat(s) to have to deal with Sunny on their own while we sleep in the other apartment. I imagine she will change her tune in a few months or so. Or if I find a Flame point or Snowshoe siamese that isn't Sunny.

I kind of understand what she's saying. But some new blood would be good. Hope you find a nice new cat to add to the family.

Today, after I decided it was safe to get out of bed, I headed to the Queen Victoria Market. The QVM is located in Melbourne city center and is an institution for fresh produce as well as a mecca of the cheap touristy souvenirs. I go to the QVM every fortnight.

This is what the food section is like...

Meat/fish market section. There are 2 long aisles of butchers and fishmongers...

From the Cheese/deli market...again 2 aisles worth of shops.

And I don't even know how many aisles there are of fruit and vegetable..

And then we headed for breakfast...

DH ordered this Eggs Romano.

DS ordered the pancakes, with bananas......(and ice cream). Yes, he had already started on one side of his breakfast.

This is mine...bacon and mushrooms, with a poached egg on the side.

Looks like it's a slow night on the Dis....might have an early night instead.

Yes they are close together, right next door. We did have a door put in, but we still keep the the two separate. Think of it as two different wings in the house. One wing has Olga's bedroom and living room, the other has the other cat's rooms. We sleep in each of the bedrooms every other night. We need to clean out some of the stuff in #2's living room so we can watch TV in there occasionally too.

Even if the doors are wide open Olga won't set foot in the other cat's part of the house. However the other cats are curious as heck about her house. Occasionally one gets through and then the hissing and growling starts!
