we are going in nov. and have all character meals booked (we're taking 7 kids from 6 mos-9 yrs) so this made the logical choice. What is y'all's opinion of last seating vs. first seating.

example: at chef mickeys we have an 11:10 seating. I noticed they closed at 11:20. will we still have a good time or will we be rushed to get out the door?

Example 2: we have several early (4:40) dinners planned at 1900 and CP. What can we expect those to be like?

It seems that these were the best we could do during free dining, as it was filling up fast.

Thanks!

I love the last seating for breakfast at CP. The place is clearing out and it is quieter and more relaxing. We were not rushed at all. It was a wonderful time to dine there.

I've done the first seating at Chef Mickeys a couple times now. It is also very nice. The place isn't full, and the food is fresh.

I usually book the first seating for lunch at Akershus. I am a big fan of the first/last seating option. I think you'll do just fine. You are never rushed in my experience.;)

I think you should be fine at Chef Mickey's. They wouldn't give you a reservation if they expected you to rush out the door 10 minutes later; I'm sure that 11:20 is the last time they take seatings for breakfast. (I work as a volunteer at our local zoo, and we do something similar -- the posted closing time might be 5:00 p.m., but that's the time they stop letting new people enter the zoo. They don't actually close until about 6:00 p.m.) I like late breakfasts; they're less crowded, and I treat them as "brunch" so I can basically skip one of the meals that day.

Early seatings are the same -- less crowded. You can just adjust your schedule accordingly with the rest of your meals.

We always do last seating at Chef Mickey's breakfast. It's much quieter, and you get a lot more time with the characters. The only thing to watch is the food. They start changing for the lunch around 11:40, so make sure you have all you want by then.
