I am hoping I don't look to foolish asking this question...but we are trying to make our first shirts tonight. We have our designs...shirts are washed...our transfer paper (Amy's)...our printer and iron ready to go.

Here's my question: If we are doing NameFills and use the technique to remove the white area around the name fill, do we then still need to trim around the name or when we print it and iron it to a shirt...will the NameFill be "free floating"??

Thanks again for the help.

I think it will be white

we used amys transfers (luv em btw) and let's say you just laid down a blank transfer and ironed it on to a shirt it would be a rectangle of plain white. so any thing you print on the transfer will be the color you printed but any blank area of the design will be the white of the transfeer paper. So, I would trim around the name. We often left a little white border around some of our desings just for a completed look, sometimes we cut right to the design ( mickey heads) for another look. I hope i am making sense- it's hard to explain.

Good luck- making t-shirts is a blast and wearing them makes you trip even more special.

Please post an update if you figure out how to make the name-fill appear "free-floating" on the shirt.

I have a name-fill a member kindly made for my daughter, and need to transfer it to a shirt. I've never done transfers before either.
