at least they talked it out and each other knows how the other feels. I'm glad he made sure to let her know he still loves her, and THANK GOD she realizes she's gonna have to work on it. She's not walking around with her head in the sand. I'm sure they will both work on it and things will work out:hug:

At least the door is open to healing and there's hope!

Yep, went yesterday afternoon! They took xrays and the ortho doc said he doesn't see any fracture. He still said there may be a stress fracture that just isn't showing up on a regular x-ray, that would only show up on an MRI, but he doubts it. He thinks there may be some tendonitis but feels that the majority of the pain is still from gout! He gave me a cortisone injection (in the top of my foot around the base of the big toe - we won't discuss that). He said that it would stay pretty numb for a few hours, which it did, and that I should get relief in one to two days. Right now it feels a little better. (Actually, I think it would feel a lot better if it weren't for the bruising and soreness where he put the shot.) So, I am very optimistic. I had to have cortisone shots before, once in my shoulder and twice in my foot for another problem - and the relief was unbelievable! So that's what I am hoping for.

I did ask him if I was doing any damage to my foot by walking on it so much and he said no, which made me feel a lot better. He said that it would keep hurting and the pain may get worse but I was not doing any long term damage if it was just a gout flare-up.

 Sounds like things went really well then!! I'm glad! Hope you Feel 100% soon!

Thanks Tracy!

Like I said, I'm really optimistic. And after being sick and out of work so long I just want for my foot to quit hurting so I can be back to 100% and get on with life. :)

Hope my foot is feeling a lot better by morning! ;)

I am chaperoning a trip to a huge amusement park about 3 hours from here tomorrow. DS is riding a bus down there but I'm driving my own vehicle. But then he will ride back with me. We found out several years ago that although these trips are sponsored through the schools (there are several schools in the county involved) they are VERY poorly supervised. So the parents have basically taken that into their own hands. :teeth: Tomorrow there are 8 students going from our school - and six parents. I think we've got them well covered! Hope I can keep up with the kids!!

I have to share with you guys a crazy dream I had last night!

I was at work, but it wasn't where I work now, it was somewhere outside. :confused3 But I was walking around and working and I had a clipboard in my hand. Then this couple came up to me and the woman said, "Hey Kathy! Do you know who I am." I recognized the voice right away. It was Liz!! I was all happy to see her and went to give her a hug but she backed up. Then she said that they were driving down to FL and just wanted to stop by 'cause her husband wanted a chance to tell me what he really thought of me. Then her husband starts yelling at me, and telling me how much he can't stand me and asking "where do you get off saying what you said." I really had no idea what he was talking about and I said, "Wait, what do you mean, what did I do??" But neither he or Liz would say what I did. But he just kept yelling and I was crying and was embarrassed 'cause everyone around was staring at us. Then Liz finally said, "he's mad because of what you posted." And I still had no idea what he was talking about. Finally, Liz told me that the post that he was upset with was something about someone else having posted about their husband not doing something she had asked him to do and I responded with something like, "Yeah, men! Aren't they all the same! :sad2: " :lmao: :lmao:

Then I woke up. I was all upset after that.

(And in case anyone wonders - no, I wasn't drinking before I went to bed! :lmao: Uh, but I did take a pain pill. Maybe that explains the crazy dream!)

So, Liz, when you read back and read this you can tell your DH that I promise I'll never be posting anything about him or after this probably about men in general either! :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: that is so funny!!

We were talking about you yesterday though :rolleyes1

We received your little present and dh and I were just talking about how the LTPers are closer to us than most of our "real" family. It's taken awhile, but he's finally come to terms with how much we all mean to each other  He actually yells at me when I don't find time to DIS!!

:rotfl: If this was a "true" story, it probable would have been me complaining about my DH not doing something :rolleyes1

Does anyone have an outdoor hot tub?? I'm just wondering if you end up using them as much as you thought you would.
no, but I have an indoor 2-person jacuzzi in my bathroom....and I don't use it as much as I thought I would...but the kids enjoy it when I fill it with bubbles and lately DH likes to soak when his body hurts. I love baths, but don't have the time to use it often.

Now that's what I want!:thumbsup2

our house in CA had one when we moved in. It was not working so we ignored it b/c we figured it would cost too much to fix.

Fast forward 1 1/2 years... we're being relocated and the new buyers put that the hot tub must work or they're not buying....

We get a Co. to come out and check into it... $50 later and it works!! $50!!

We enjoyed it everynight until we moved :teeth:

(and 9 months later B was born):rolleyes1
