I keep getting that message also. Along with some other ones when I logged on this morning. It must have something to do with the boards being down yesterday. Maybe everything is not back up and running just yet.
:confused3

Kathy said that is came in two big cooler and she couldn't believe the amount of food. :yay:

Thanks Kelli-it gave me nightmares all night-the last one was the worse-I woke up in a panic!!!!

Yikes - I probably would have also. Grades are so important and kids just don't understand at their age. I know I didn't, I had to learn the hard way. :sad2:

Morning everyone:)

Morning Kayla and Joe

I thought I'd finish up my "trip report" so that you all would know what I had gone through....then I'm gonna put it all behind me and start moving forward, no matter how slowly!

Day 5, Monday, 3/5

The urologist came in to see me first thing in the morning. He said that the game plan was to insert a stent into my left kidney (surgery) to hopefully help the stone pass. If the stone didn't pass then the next option would be lithotripsy but they couldn't do that until the infection was gone and Friday would be the earliest they could schedule it. He said that they would do the surgery later in the afternoon and I would probably be out of my room no more than 90 minutes.

They took me to surgery between 5 and 5:30. Next thing I remember was waking up and asking where I was going. They told me they were taking me to ICU. It was 9:30 p.m.

They had started the surgery and realized how bad the infection was so they spent a lot of time trying to drain the infection from the kidney. I was septic. The doctor had already called Allen and let him know what was going on.

Oh my goodness. You really were in bad shape.

Moving forward sounds good. Just do it one step at a time. No need to run ahead.

Day 6, Tuesday, 3/6

I spent most of the day in ICU. Allen wanted to come up but the nurses told me that they were very strict on their visiting hours. They allowed visitors for ten minutes at 10, 12, 2, 4, and 6. It really wasn't worth Allen driving 4 to 4-1/2 hours to visit for 10 minutes. :sad2: The nurses in ICU were very nice, knowing that I was up there alone. Cell phones didn't work in ICU but if Allen called they would bring the phone from the nurses station into my ICU unit and let me talk to him. And a few times I was feeling lonely they made the long-distance call to Allen and let me talk.

I was transferred to a regular room around dinner time.

Day 7, Wednesday, 3/7

One of the main reasons for me being in ICU Monday night and Tuesday was because of my oxygen sats. Normally after surgery the oxygen level may be down but my levels were in the high 70's. The highest they could get them with oxygen was 85. They had called in a pulmonary specialist and he was overseeing my breathing and oxygen sats.

So, early on Wednesday morning they sent me down to x-ray for chest x-rays and kidney x-rays. Whew, what an ordeal. While I was down there the pulmonary specialist had gone to my room and was told I was down having x-rays. He came down to the x-ray department and read the x-ray while I was down there. Pneumonia! :sad2:

They would hate me in that ICU;) -since I would be like-He's not visiting this is part of my life here and I want him here!!! Nurses make the worse patients!!!

It was really too bad you were so far from home when this all happened:sad2:
