we want to know how your appointment went (don't make me have to bring out Mr. Angry Eyes)

Okay -

Got the official results of the sleep study. Yes, I do have sleep apnea. The technician had told me after the sleep study that on a scale of mild - moderate - severe I am on the upward end of severe. And when I stop breathing my oxygen level goes down to 60 (usually it only goes to about 80).

The doctor explained to me today that to be diagnosed with sleep apnea you have to have 5 "episodes" an hour. An "episode" is when you stop breathing during your sleep for at least 10 seconds.

If you figure that up it comes out to one "episode" every 50 seconds or so. Basically, that means that I have not had one continual minute of sleep for who knows how long. It's no wonder I have felt so tired all the time!

You need some rest woman!!!!!

 WOW-Kathy!!! SO did he set you up with a CPAP machine-I hope so -no wonder your so tired all the time!!!!

He did the orders for the CPAP machine today and hopefully I will have it within a week. I'm so anxious to get it. They had me on the CPAP machine at the hospital last week for 4-1/2 hours and I felt fantastic the next morning. I had not felt that good, or that rested, in years. Now I feel like there is hope!

:confused3 what does it do

Andie's dad has that. He snores SOOOOOOO loud!

I snore too! It's so embarrassing how loud I can be. I can wake myself up! :lmao: But at least now I know there's a reason so I don't have to be embarrassed.

But when I was on the CPAP machine at the hospital I did not snore at all!

:confused3 what does it do

I can explain that!!!! It applies positive pressure to your airway as you sleep -it fits over your nose and it stimulates you to keep breathing by keeping the airways open as you breath in- allowing you a nice restful sleep!!!
