DD tried on three dresses. (Didn't even try on the first one - the halter style that Liz thought was sexy! )

So far this is the winner:

I can't find a pic of the other one that she really liked. But she was too short for it anyways. Even with 4" heels it would have had to be hemmed about another 4" and then that much of a hem would take away some of the lace trim. Just wouldn't work.


This was the other she tried on but it's too pouffy on the bottom and didn't have a train:

I am sooo cold I feel like I'm never going to warm up again!.

I just got back from a fire call. It's 22 degrees and the water was icing on everything.

Unfortunately, the couple lost their home. But at least they were able to get out safely.

I have found one part of the job of FD treasurer that I do not like. It is my job to take a check to the family whenever there is a burnout. How do you face someone and say sorry you've lost everything, here's a little check to get some clothes. It's so hard and so sad. This is the second time in two weeks I've had to do this. At least this couple did have insurance. The fire two weeks ago totally destroyed a home and all their belongings and they had no insurance.

not last night, but I do this morning. I'm letting my car warm up, then I'm off to work.

I got up and fixed two sausage, egg and cheese breakfast casseroles this morning for work - and one for home. As soon as they're ready I'm off to work.

It feels good to be able to get up and do something before work. I guess my CPAP machine is working. Yesterday I made it all the way to Charlotte and back without a nap. I usually have to stop once, if not twice, on the way down and on the way back for a little power-nap!
